Ronnie Brown a Lion

I still do not view this as much of an upgrade.I If you say that the Ronnie Brown sample size is too small then the Jerome Harrison sample size is too small...do not believe that Ronnie Brown is the same back he was a few years ago after multiple injuries. I do not think he is as fast as he used to be and we will see how far he can move a pile if he is getting hit in the backfield. I believe our running issue is more to do with the offensive line and not the running back. We did not give up a whole lot to see if he has anything left in the tank but at the same time I do not think it matters with our offensive line issues like I previously stated. Ronnie Brown only has one year left on his contract and is just a rental until LeShoure is healthy which is fine but, if anything is gained here it is most likely very minimal.
yea but harrison has never been great brown has had a few really good years i dont think you can say that about jerome

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see him as washed up. He basically got a reduced role when Ricky Williams returned and Miami decided not to resign him this season when he got a DUI in the offseason. He went to the Eagles and hasn't seen a ton of action behind McCoy, so I wouldn't put much stock in his low numbers. I'm not saying he'll be the next Barry Sanders, but I don't think he'll be bad.

/shrug

Though I would have liked to have given Harrison a shot, a guy we haven't been using and a 7th for a back we WILL use isn't terrible by any means.

Perhaps management saw something negative in Harrison we didn't...

Not saying they were. But if they would have gotten anything that made me go whoopity doo.. that would have been it.

i like this deal, didn't give up too much for him, plus i personally believe brown still has a bit left to give......sure, we could use any LT besides backus on the line, but those are the breaks when your a fucking lions fan. linehan has to SOMEHOW make this work.

Guys act like this is a big deal. lol

Morris is still going to see the lion's share of the carries vs Atlanta assuming Best doesn't play... Brown is a spell back that Linehan might draw up a play or two for since they were in Miami together.

MoMo is your guy though this week if Best is out.

And what did we lose? Jerome Harrison and his 44 yards of total offense? It's not like he was helping us grind games out in the 4th quarter.

At worst, Ronnie gets some 4th qtr action and helps pound some tough yards out. And if he doesn't work out, you lost nothing.

I know nobody is worried about the 7th round pick we gave up in 2013 after our 2012 Superbowl Run. Oh no! We won't able to get another Mr. Irrelevant!

Actually no one is worrying about the 7th rounder or Harrison (although some thought he had better upside) the debate going on is about Brown's potential impact of which you are clearly on the minimal side (the right side). Reading is fundamental.

@AdamSchefter: Ronnie Brown-to-Detroit voided because RB Jerome Harrison had health issues. Brown still an Eagle, Harrison a Lion.

Perfectly said, Bomber.
