Someone should definitely look into it. I'm just not hanging my hat on this article to start talking about money laundering as news.


What's news to me is that Trump's had business with Russians. Not just business aspirations.

We knew that already.

shady Russians, Ukrainians, Uzbekis, Belorussians, etc. buying condos
on the market in a Trump-branded or owned condo isn't "business" though.

I wrote more.

I don't disagree with the importance of law enforcement investigating this. Money laundering is something you can prove while conflict of interest is difficult. But from the point of view as just a message board reader and not an investigator, I'm more interested in decisions about sanctions being made by someone who's very concerned with branding and has a brand that's been popular with the very wealthy Russians that the sanctions would impact. Whereas money laundering customers is probably something that's pretty normal for big realty people in Florida to be less than fully diligent about, but has less of an impact on international politics.


If evidence turns up that ties the Trump Organization to money laundering, then it could something with international implications.

I didn't. I thought there was 1 hotel under construction in the former USSR, and that's all the Russian business I was aware of that got beyond talks.
