:lmao::lmao:this shit just gets better everyday... and the $4 gasoline he is talking about was also during the Bush administration

Bravo Paul Bravo.....

GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan took a swipe at President Barack Obama on Thursday for failing to rescue a General Motors factory in his Wisconsin congressional district, calling it "one more broken promise" on the Democratic administration's record.
"I remember President Obama visiting it when he was first running, saying he'll keep that plant open," Ryan said during a campaign stop. "One of the reasons that plant got shut down was $4 gasoline. You see, this costs jobs. The president's terrible energy policies are costing us jobs."
The attack has already received a fair amount of ridicule because the Janesville, Wis., plant actually closed during the last year of George W. Bush's presidency. What hasn't really been emphasized is whether Ryan clearly knew this and made the charge nonetheless.

obama started the refinery fire that made prices jump .30 too. fucking morons.

it was still open in Jan 2009.....didnt close until several month later.
I though Obama bailed out GM???.....except for losing 1/3 of its employees, 1000 dealerships....new wages went from $28 to $16.....and were stuck with $50B price tag.

If the parties were reversed and someone made this point to side with the Democrats, I think you would rip it to pieces.

just correcting the original poster...obvisouly he had his facts wrong, didnt he?
Maybe If Obama gave the plant $20B instead of the UAW it would still be open???

THEEsmith, you should know, in case you actually don't, that Sean always conveniently leaves out one little minor detail...

In December 2008, Congress, controlled by Democrats, punted the issue. At that point, Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson persuaded Bush to lend the troubled car companies $13.4 billion to keep them alive until Obama took office, plus some additional weeks.

Not only did Bush aides consult with Obama?s team the entire time, but Paulson also pushed back against GOP free-market purists who were willing to let GM and Chrysler go into Chapter 11.

But after the financial crisis and a collapse in demand for the SUVs the factory produced, it shut down in December 2008 in the waning days of Bush?s second term.

go away now....you've had your spanking for the day. :lmao:

Romney made millions putting other companies out of business and firing people.....whats your point?

BAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

The plant covers 4,800,000 ft? (446,000 m?).[3] It employed around 7,000 workers at its peak in 1970, but was down to about 1,200 at its closing in 2009.[4]

FUCK OFF, CLOSED IN 2009

But by then, GM's shutdown plans were set. On Oct. 11, 2008, the Journal Sentinel reported that GM would announce it would close the Janesville plant around Christmas.

lol...Barry wasn't elected until a moth later if Im not mistaken.

lololololol

Ryan knew the plant was closing in September...lol

Less than a month earlier, Ryan was making preparations to help the displaced workers and using federal funds to pick up the tab. On Sept. 18, his office put out a statement that it had joined forces with the U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Agency to secure a $450,000 grant to support economic initiatives for the Janesville area.

all before th3e bailout came about. $50B and we cant save a few thousand jobs??? c'mon Barry WTF, $26B to the UAW, ouch

but, but, barry, the savior, bailed them out....why is it closed genious..

because GM figured it was cheaper for the to close it then retool it....you tool :lmao:

like stated GM made the decision to close the plant Oct 2008 a month before the election...if you knew anything about the auto industry you'd know a skeleton crew is usually kept on for 3 or 4 months after a plant closes.

the Ford Foundry closed here in Windsor where my Old man worked for 25 years....after the closing and layoffs started the Old Man got 3 or 4 months in as a higher seniorty guy to do the tear down and clean up.

seriously go away now my hands getting sore slapping you.

I was listening to this guy Al Rantel, this gay libertarian/Republican who's a radio personality, just before the 2008 election, talking about how people had been saying that Obama would make the United States a socialist country, and he just laughed.

"We're already a socialist country!" he said.

lol....Ryans pleas for the plant fell on deaf ears to Dubya.

When the Bush administration itself called the decision to close the plant evidence that the auto industry was trimming fat and improving its bottom line, Ryan called the news "gut-wrenching."
