Saints game not a complete loss

Considering Stafford has only 1 playmaker on offense, it was phenomenal. Probably his most complete game as a pro

1 TD and 1 INT. He has had several games that were better.

Tom you're normally pretty level headed, but I think you're sorta over-emphasizing that one play, and taking away from what he did the rest of the game.

Basically the entire team around him collapsed mentally.

Burrleson fell over AIR on his way to a for sure TD.

Titus Young punched a guy in the face on the 3 yard line - cost us a TD

Who knows how many other red zone opportunities they could have had if they didn't line up illegal, or tackle guys on blitz pick-ups, or have hands to the face on the O-line, ect...

Stafford played an amazingly calm and collected game considering the entire rest of the team scrwed the pooch. And he threw for over 400 yards, inspite of the above plays.

Ya he missed Pettigrew on a touch throw, and he missed Calvin on the deep ball (scored on that drive anyways)

But collectively, he played a pretty good game... Probably his best game as a Pro...

Good game is one thing....the other guy said it was phenominal. Brees and Rodgers don't miss that pass though.

the last tampa NO game brees missed a wide open receiver with a defender nowhere within ten yards

OK....they all miss some passes. I don't know what kind of pass Brees missed and in what game situation. However, that was in a time of the game that the team needed him and he missed the wide open TD. I can't call a game phenominal when he had an EASY 15 yard throw for a sure TD and he missed badly. That would have made it 24-14 at the half. Totally different ball game.

All Im saying is that Stafford is back to how he was playing before the hand injury. This game proved that his hand and those fucking gloves played a huge part in the 9 ints over 3 games. The final 4 games look alot more winable with Stafford throwing the ball alot better now. I honestly just thought he was in a slump, but the gloves came off, and he proved me wrong. Whether some of you believe in him or not, IMHO I think the Lions have themselves a 23 year old QB, who is already on the edge of elite status. Hope he stays here a long, long, time.

He is not on the edge of elite status. There are only 3 elite QBs...Rodgers, Brady and Brees. There is a BIG dropoff after those three with Eli, Ben, Romo and Stafford (I have Stafford the worst of the 4). Stafford is definitely playing like a top 10 QB right now but I wouldn't call him elite. He is a good QB.

I'll take good over what's been back there in the past 20 years,

Stafford will make another huge jump next year...the kids going to be elite.

Hell yes....the Lions QBs have been terrible. He has a LONG way to go to catch what I consider the elite QBs. Guys like Eli and Ben are well within his reach. I don't know if he can get to the top 3.....but top 5 is good enough to win a SB.

Who says you have to be top 3 to be elite? Just because you might not be as good as Rodgers or Brady doesn't mean you can't be elite. And I see him as good as Brees down the road, they're both very similar and Stafford, having a real good year will get better.

Big Bens got a couple of rings , a rookie of the year and 3 AFC titles.

I think you are short changing him a bit Tom.

Ben has 2 rings because of a defense and running game. Ben is not elite.

Trent dilfer is elite too I guess

Santonio Holmes and the Arizona Cardinals may beg to differ.

All I know is when Ben R. Need to make a throw he did. How they got there I have no idea but he's made some elite throws in super bowls.

He made some elite throws vs the packers last year....once the 1st and 3rd string Cbs were out.

Brady, Rodgers. Manning, and Brees are the elite Qbs.

Ben is clutch though ill give him that.

your opinion , my opinion.

I put Ben right up there with Brady , Rodgers and Manning.

another guy who just wins....most likely will have 3 or 4 rings when he is all done.

staffords numbers before the finger injury shows he will be elite soon. nuff said. hes got the "it" factor and everyone sees it. get rid of burleson. fuck offensive pass interference, he cant get seperation cuz he's washed up!

To me being an elite QB means you are one of the best. There is a bid difference between the 3 that I mentioned and the rest of the QBs in the league. Therefore, they are elite and the rest are not. If there were 5 on par with Brady, Rodgers and Brees then there would be 5 elite QBs. As of right now there are not 5...there are only 3.

Probably a little short...he is on the top of my next level QBs...just not on par with the top 3.

According to John Clayton there are about 15 elite qbs including Josh Freeman and Joe Flacco.

He must have a different definition of "Elite"
