So...I'm out at the Dallas Alumni Club Game Watch tonight....

Go Blue!

And at halftime this dude from the Cowboys is introduced to talk about box and club seats for the Bama game.

Now - it is NOT cheap - about a grand per head; it does include food and booze, groups of 8-20.

Now....that is probably pricey for most folks, including and especially me...but I thought I'd throw it out there to the board for consideration....

Thoughts?

Who's paying for my plane ticket, rental car and hotel fare? lol

wow... no, that is not cheap.

I'm guessing the crowd for this game is going to look like the Sugar Bowl, with not too many VaTech/BAMA fans in the audience.

The southern boys may subsidize their tickets to ensure all things look equal on TV. They're very sensitive about the nature of things, you know.

ballparking this trip...

looking at AA.com, there are a couple cheap flights from Chicago to Dallas that weekend, ($100/each way)... $200

rental car... $150

hotel... $200

ticket... $200 (???)

so far, $750, not counting food and drink. guessing JerryLand marks up their concessions more than usual, so another $50-$100 for the game.

this could easily be a $1000 trip, and that's without anything fancy

I think the Bama contingent will represent far better in Dallas than VT did last night ... esp if they happen to beat LSU.

Either way, we're going -- almost certainly. Not sure about $1K/person but like Champ is doing ....

Denver to Dallas (R/T): $150 I am guessing

With Family and friends we have places to stay (may get hotel for night of game near JerryLand) and I (will) have enough Hertz points for a car .... Ticket is the X factor, depending on Face v Secondary .....

Can't wait! Only 9 months from YESTERDAY!

I just got this e-mail from the guy today:

[i:2e18tn4w]The packages that I told you about are essentially the luxury suite/seat packages that are all inclusive with food, drinks, and alcohol. Those figure to go for about $1,000 per person. Worry not though, there will be more reasonable ticket packages available as well. That is the expectation being built by the school. Unfortunately, we don

Alas... I do not know anyone who lives in or around the DFW area. I have to bear the costs of the entire trip.

accordingly, I'd say there's a less than a 50% chance I would go to this game.

Maybe we can find everybody local host families, like the way we do it when the Glee Club goes on tour.

Edit: You would be especially popular to host by a Texas family, as, ironically, you're probably amongst the best marksmen on the board.
