Another good outing for Drew Against the Yankees. This makes the 3rd game he has gone 6 innings and only given a run in each of his 4 starts. Tigers need to get the win for him today. But a fine start against the Yankees today is just what the Tigers needed. Congrats to Smyly needs to be said for his work today. Really he has step up today, the other starters need to take note of this start.

First Tiger rookie lefty since early 50's to win at New York.... ( Billy Hoeft) was the other one..

Looks like we may have found a gem!

He's got very good stuff, but his control has been very very good so far. If he can maintain that control he could be a gem and exactly what we need in the middle of our rotation, a power lefty.

Drew Smyly: 1st pitcher in the Modern Era (since 1900) to allow one run or fewer in each of his four appearances in the majors, with all four appearances being starts.-ESPN Stats and Information

Wow first in history, very impressive...Hopefully he can pitch well all season, and future seasons to come!

Obviously there is a lot of season left...but if he we make the playoffs and have to go to Yankee stadium....we have a lefty pitcher who already knows he can shutdown the Yankee line up in Yankee stadium.
