So what's the tie-breaker?

Nebraska beats Sparty, we beat Neb. What's the three-way tie-breaker, overall conference record? What's the next tie-breaker?

I shouldn't have left out Iowa since they are undefeated in conference at this point. We could have a four-way tie, though very unlikely.

I'm glad we got that loss out of the way early then.

All we can do at this point is win out and hope we get some help from Neb and/or Iowa.

Honestly, I would rather UM get into the outback bowl this year, and have a shot at winning. After the post game anger subsided, I was thinking that UM isn't ready to represent the B1G. They are still fighting to rectify the last 3 years. If they had to lose this year, wouldn't you rather lose to a tough MSU team, or have them trip up against Purdue, or Northwestern? MSU's defense is good. They had an extra week to prepare. It's the biggest game on their schedule. All that adds up to what we saw on Saturday. UM will be better for it in the long run.

in order for michigan to have a 3 way tie with msu and neb we would have to lose another conference game because nebraska already has one and msu will likely lose to wisconsin. the better thing would be to win out because then both would have 2 conference losses and we would only have 1. although if there was a 3 way tie do they go back to head to head after one is eliminated from the tie?

I thought a MSU loss to UW really wasn't going to matter since they are in different divisions.

no, the standings go by conference record not division record.

of course it won't matter, because MSU's going to win out...

I think the Wisconsin game will be pretty tough for MSU. They have a big enough line to run right at MSU.. but we shall see.

I think MSU will drop to Wiscy and Nebraska. Michigan COULD possibly win out. Michigan still has a GOOD chance of winning their division.

divisional tiebreaker

Thanks ML....I thought common opponents was # 3

If we win the rest of our games... Tie-breakers will not be needed...

MSU is 5 - 1, we're 6 - 1, if we both win out there would be a tie at 11 - 1 and they would win the head-to-head tie-breaker. We would need Wis or Neb to beat Sparty to avoid that scenario.
