You simply don't score 9 runs and lose without doing anything. Need to make some moves soon before the White Sox get out in front too far.

I agree...But the Tigers seem like slow movers.. KC posted about help for LM.

Well with the seeming regression of Smyly his last few starts, they need to do something with another starter. I would love to get Grienke and Corey Hart, but that would most likely cost a lot. Turner, Brantly, Crosby, and Boesch?

You'd think with 9 runs, Fister starting and Hamilton with 4 k's we would have smoked them. Sometimes a change needs to be made just to be made. Leyland goes. Will it help, probably not but you gotta do something.

Not Leyland at this point, it's more a need to get rid of Lloyd. It's more of a personnel issue rather than coaching. When your best two options in the OF are Quinten Berry, Brennan Boesch, and Delmon Young, you have a problem.

Depressing.. it's just depressing. back to 3 under, 4 out 1 game away from 4th again. It wasn't supposed to be like this.

Yeah depressing... And the silence from DD is maddening.. This move for Toby is a start but this team is really missing leadership everywhere... Heck i don't know.. What a bummer..

I get the need for getting rid of Lloyd but Managers lose jobs all the time with situations like this, where a team underperforms. He's gotta be held accountable.

he's right. our fucking awful production from corner OF and DH are much, much more important to fix. a 2Bman would be gravy on top of other acquisitions. im confused because i have no idea why so many people focusing on 2B instead of the other 2, more important, problems.

(i mean, i know why HUGE is fixating on it...he's retarded).

Well were really not... Most of us have wanted both Young and BB gone but we have nothing to use in the minors apparently.. But when you also factor in the fact that our 2nd basemen are dead last in production in all of majors just just can't say that you are not looking at options at that position too. I Know RS has gone from .200 to .228 and is having a good month but you just don't use the words complimentary position for us... it reeks of you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.. With Drew and Fister pitching like crap you can add SP to the list before 2nd base.. But If i see raburn one more time at second base.....* Maybe he can snag a marginally second baseman that can hit better then .160 and .228...And fill the other things you want... Sound like what DD is telling Huge is we are stuck with RR/RS/DW>>>>>yikes!!

How long are they prepared to stay with BB in right? and DY at DH... It appears they are going to stay with it... So if they do i guess we need a SP and a 2nd basemen.. But as of now we need a
OF/DH... SP.......... 2b...in that order...

by "most people" i meant in general, not on the board (sorry if it came off that way). people all over are focusing too much on 2b. yeah, DD cant say that he's not looking for one (and, really, he should be), but it also cant be the priority in any way. dead last production sucks and needs to be taken care of, but 2B is probably the spot most AL teams expect the 2nd worst offensive production from besides catcher. corner OF and DH are supposed to be huge strengths, and ours are pathetic. if santiago continues to heat up a bit to provide even replacement level production, 2B wont be an issue (or at least not a big one).

i do agree with the order you put our needs in, cept that i would make the need double OF and ignore a DH type hitter. if we can shore up both corner OF spots somehow, DH can be a revolving door till victor is back in august (hopefully). a SP (preferably a cheap-ish veteran one, like dempster or someone) would be nice because after verlander our rotation has zero consistency. i wish oswalt wasnt such a huge fucking douchebag, and now i hope he gets hit by a bus. he would have been great for our needs aside from bein a little expensive.

at any rate i agree with you that raburn should NEVER be at 2nd. he is just not a 2nd baseman. he is an outfielder, and an above average one (defensively, and offensively when he's hitting) at that. he is an awful 2nd baseman because even when he is on offensively, it cant make up for the awful defense. kinda how like delmon young and boesch are 24/7.

and i really, really hope he's not insinuating we're going to be stuck with boesch and young all year...i might cry. or go on a rampage. whichever.

Remember how long it took Inge to get let go mostly because of his contract I suppose? I'm not sure DD would just release 6.5m and we can't can't anything for him. BB in Toledo but we need someone first, are there any names out there we'd have a chance at?

And lastly, if we get a DH - imo that puts DY as a perma left fielder because I don't see them getting rid of him or benching him. Not with 6.5 on the table.
