Matthew Stafford - QB - Lions

Lions coach Jim Schwartz said at his Monday press conference Matthew Stafford is "no more than day to day" with his ankle injury.
Stafford's MRI came back negative, and his knee injury is considered a dead issue. Schwartz's characterization of Stafford's ankle injury is certainly encouraging, but ProFootballTalk.com reports Stafford is in a walking boot and seeking a second opinion later in the week. That would suggest he wasn't entirely pleased with the first opinion. However, most signs are still pointing toward Stafford being available for Week 8 against the Broncos.

Let him play with the walking boot on. Guarantee he stays in the pocket.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz said Monday that QB Matthew Stafford, who limped off the field Week 7 against the Falcons, is "no more than day to day" with an ankle injury. The Lions travel to Denver in Week 8. "He went home in a boot for his ankle," Schwartz said. "He is no more than day-to-day. We'll see where he is on Wednesday and hopefully we can get him back on the practice field. If he had a broken bone, he would be more than day-to-day."

He would be more then day to day with a broken bone? Hell didn't JS say last year when he messed up his shoulder he was day to day lol? I'm starting to think him saying that is a bad thing lol.

If it was Suh falling on Ryans feet/legs that late after a pass was gone....what % chance is there that we get a flag? Ofcourse when its against us we dont get the call.

Can't blame Schwartz for not indulging right away. Let Denver game plan around Stafford and not Hill.

they don't....meetings and film

only teams practicing Tuesday are teams coming off bye weeks.

Stafford no longer looks like he is having fun out on the field anymore. It begs the question, why? Is it the fact that the constant pressure of a porous OL is giving up getting him down? Is he having disagreements with Linehan? Or is the constant daily grind getting to him. Whatever it is, his heart doesn't seem to be in the game as of late and it has been the difference from a come from behind victory on the road to just managing the game and a lazy 2 min offense at the end of the game...

Tuesday is an NFL day off except for bye week teams. I'm not sure you can practice even if you wanted to, NFL rule.

He doesn't seem to have the excitement lately. He's probably disappointed with himself as well. Easier to be happy when winning I suppose so not sure it really matters. I still rather have him than not.

"Best, Houston, Vanden Bosch and Cherilus out at Lions practice. Stafford limited. Has helmet, but Hill and Stanton taking reps in skelly"

doesnt sounds all that promising as some made it out to sound...

"It feels OK. It's sore obviously, but it's made progress since Sunday," Stafford said. "If I'm healthy enough to play, I'm going to try to be out there. It's yet to be seen if I can get to that point, but if I can, then I want to play."
