Still More Tax Dollars at Work

Damn those must be nice houses for a hundred thousand fuckin` bucks.

Maybe I'll buy a few of them.

The chick that bought for 80 would probably sell for 60.

I might offer her 50. I`ve been thinking of buying a summer/football weekends home in my beloved Ann Arbor, but for a home nearby with a half million dollars worth of renovations, for less than a hundred grand, I would likely make the drive.

Well, the objective was to entice the middle class so you don't exactly fit the profile...but I'll bet you can work it out.

Tax dollars?

lol.

Just more debt dollars.

When a nation is already more than 17.5 trillion in debt, whats an additional measly 15 million or so?

Defense constitutes one of the largest parts of federal spending and that is very wasteful as well, but hey...maybe soon, some angry Iranians will invade the US by motorboat.

Like I said, I could do it all day, every day.

Like I said, I could do it all day, every day.

Anyone could, IF they believe that federal and state spending on public infrastructure and citizens comes directly out of the pockets of taxpayers. But all other spending including tax abatements, incentives (even if used to outsource and off-shore jobs), and deferments when it involves the MIC, defense and business doesn't or that it is necessary if not essential.

Because cutting or eliminating spending on the poor, elderly, and infirm increases the likelihood that they will soon be too busy just trying to survive, rather than bothering to register to vote. Most, including minorities tend to vote Democratic, so its a potential win-win scenario for Republican candidates and incumbents.

Yes, any idiot can cherry pick articles about taxes/spending, post them with some cut-and-paste Tea Party slogans, and imply theyre making a coherent argument. Nothing to see here.

I knew a stock broker in San Jose, CA - originally from Russia - who was buying up Detroit properties in 2008+ for $10-$15K and then re-selling them to new Eastern European immigrants who couldn't get conventional loans from the bank. He was killing it and taking advantage of the laws and loopholes.

This was pre-Obama, of course.

I could do this all day every day. Relay real stories that happened but aren't appearing in political webpages.

537 grand on each house, in Detroit? That's crazy..they're probably sweet looking houses but I can't imagine they thought they'd get a better price. It's Detroit..

Something tells me that those numbers are off. Somebody is embezzling money. No way it cost half a mil to fix up one house. Even for a huge home, that much money is overkill. Even with the renovations they mentioned, there's no way the cost should be that high.

Thought the same thing - for sure someone is running a scam if those are the real numbers. Those seem higher than tear down and rebuild numbers. Probably some Detroit Land Bank official approving inflated invoices (by 50%+ easily it seems) then taking a nice kickback.
