I wasn't online during the game but now I am and the very first thread I read is "fire Cunningham" are you fucking serious? In 3 God damn years we went from completelty winless to facing one of, if not the best teams to ever play the fucking game, you god damn panzies are calling for Gunthers head well you bunch of fuck sticks can go back to rooting for the fucking patriots or whatever other fan boy team you came from. Everyone new deep down that this was going to be the year that we came close to and/or possibly made the playoffs and by god we hung with one of the best damn teams in the playoffs.....so fuck you non-fans I'm damn proud to be a lions fan today.

Someone has to bite the bullet for this pathetic defense. Don't be surprised to see Cunningham gone. As well as guys like A. Smith and A. Berry. That was atrocious today....

You can still be a Lions fan AND think our defense has huge issues. It wasn't just about today's game. People have been calling for Gunther's head all year...not just today.

There was talk that the TB coach would keep his job late in the season but then they had two games where they just gave up. This is something you could get fired for, these last 2 games.

Gunther really hasn't impressed me at all since he's been here. I know he doesn't have much talent to work with in the secondary but some of his play calls have been questionable at best this year. I agree that someone has to take the blame for this debacle the past 2 weeks and it will most likely fall on Gunther.

I'm also extremely disappointed in Smith, I had high hopes for him after last season and he has regressed big time this season, he can't cover, can trackle, and is out of position all the time. Bummer too cuz he is had the potential to be a ball hawk.

Well after coming off 2 of the worst defensive games in NFL history with the talent we have, someones gotta be held accountable

The defense added talent but didn't show improvement other than a few more takeaways. Gunther isn't terrible, but there are better guys out there. We have a bright future, we shouldn't be settling right now. Look what Wade Phillips did in Houston (added a CB and S, but still).

Get rid of the "Wide 9" defense. IT 'AINT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!

The Lions and the fans need a new attitude now that the team is winning. We can't settle for anything less than playoffs every year. The defense is a problem and needs to be addressed and it was pretty obvious in this game. Because of this year, making the playoffs shouldn't be just enough. Going from bad to good was easy, going from good to great is going to be tough.

Sober up and come back, you're better than this

dude, it's not like we're calling for Jim. Gunther's defense and his playcalling has been our weakness the last two years. We have suh, fairley, kvb, avril, and corey williams and we can't produce sacks without having lockdown coverage. we need someone that can take advantage of their talents.

Adam, the threads to axe GC are justified, the D has regressed, the pass rush is pathetic, the wide 9 gets gashed all the f'en time. It's unacceptable.. we need a guy and a system that can do a better job with the talent we have

Gunther gets an F

We dropped three easy interceptions tonight.. Defense has to make those plays..

I think it is all a work in process everyone said that the secondary will step it up because of the D-line but with the D these guys run it will step up when we see a step up in secondary. Next year I see us no less than in the NFCC game. This offense is gonna get better and addition with a run game and an improved secondary on defense the Detroit Lions are going to be a staple for years to come. I am no way dissapointed with the way the season ended

You're a fucking loon.. It's obvious the defense hasn't been as advertised at all. Get a clue..

Its not even about the sacks. We couldn't even pressure Brees or Flynn. His playing calling is vanilla.

what happened to putting Suh at DE or at LB? I was hoping he would get more creative but he insisted on bringing just 4 play after play. We had little to no pressure all night.

Step 1: Rush 4

Step 2: Have your D-linemen run past the RBs or not get to the QB

Step 3a: Have your back 7 fail to tackle RBs and receivers on quick passes

Step 3b: Have your secondary get burned on deep routes...or just not cover them at all

It sure was a fun night

Shit. And i thought the green bay game was bad. I will be highly fucking pissed if berry/smith/GC are all here next year. What happened late this season absolutely cannot be considered good enough or thought to be better next year. Defensive playcalling gargled ballsweat, and our cb's with "potential" had more than enough games to state their case. Somebody has GOT TO GO, and being okay with how the defense has played is settling for mediocrity. Fuck that shit; i want to see them be great and not just good enough. The team won every game that a "decent to good" team should have won, but not any games against legit playoff teams. They gotta do something about that defense to make that next step towards being a great team.
