1-1 after two but Wings gave up a goal on a giveaway last minute of the
period..
They have many chances just can't score...

shootout..

Wings are 0 for last 10.
Looking for first shoot win since February of last year.

Can the Wings win the skills competition..
Wings are only 2/15 in shoot shot attempts.

Wings had three chances to win the shootout....

Not one wing tried to get the TB goalie to move..
All fucking shots...

This is getting really ridiculous. Even the worst team in the league should statistically win a shootout now and then. They can't even score a goal in them lol. All these lost points in OT and shootouts are going to make the difference between maybe home ice in the playoffs, or even making the playoffs altogether.

Yup.. Pretty sure they will make the playoffs but home ice you can probably kiss goodbye..

Oh wait? We can't win at home this year...

Not one damn Wing tried to make a move... TB lost the damn puck...

The wings now have 9 overtime losses this season, most in the league. Pretty frustrating to think if they had just won 3 or 4 of them, we would be right up there with Pittsburgh for the #2 spot. As it stands they are in 5th place in the East only 6 points up on the #8 team.

Lots of hockey left, but it's getting annoying lol. Law of averages needs to start kicking in on these shootouts.

The Red Wings sent four veterans out there in the shootouts last night (Bertuzzi - 38, Alfie - 41, Franzen - 33, Datsyuk - 35) and two youngsters (Nyquist - 24 and Tatar - 23). This is a fairly typical shootout group for the Red Wings.

Is there something to be said for younger players who have grown up with the shootout format perhaps being better prepared and more comfortable in a shootout? I heard an announcer suggest that a couple games ago.

Well we only have two guys who have even scored 1 shootout goal so far this season. One is a young guy (Tatar), and the other is an old guy (Alfie). The shootout has been around since the 2005-2006 post lockout season. I would think that the veterans should be used to it by now, and have a lot more practice with it in fact.

Datsyuk is 0-5 this year and he's a career 42% scorer on shootouts. It's amazing how bad the entire team has been, so it's probably mostly a mental thing at this point. Just need to win one and get the monkey off their backs.
