Pulkkinen, the Red Wings' fourth-round pick (111th overall) in the 2010 NHL entry draft,
played three games with the Red Wings last season. He did not have any points.
The Red Wings play Saturday at Washington in the fourth of six straight games on the road.
General manager Ken Holland said Pulkkinen will play vs. the Capitals.
