Get StartedHe's growing up faster than I.
He's reminiscent of the way Ronald Reagan chuckled away his past as a liberal Democrat New Dealer and a Union President.
I'm looking for the study, but I think the opposite is actually true of most people.
I think for most life experience leads to tolerance and understanding.
That was the gist of it. 20's and into the 30's people get more conservative and middle age onward they get more liberal. Wish I could find it though; I love plotted data. This kid seems to have compacted all that into a shorter timespan. Of course, the distinction between fiscal and social would open up the conversation a bit. Churchill was probably only thinking of finances.
Here's one of the studies:

This raises an interesting scenario. Populations are aging in many places, but what does this mean for China with the One Child policy? Over the next several decades the average age there will increase much more quickly than other places. Will that result in a more liberal China, or do things work differently there?
not only that, but the gender balance of the population is being skewed heavily male vs. female, because everyone would rather have a son than a daughter.
(personally, I can understand that. god, I hope I never have daughters...)
I just read that the boy/girl ratio of either newborns or kids under some age is currently 1.23:1 and that there is a history of revolutions and uprisings in places where that ratio skews too male.
Also, challenges are expected due to the general need for populations to bring in immigrants when the population skews older, while China is not known to be especially immigrant friendly.
