Personally, my gut over the past few weeks senses a game similar to that played in south bend in 2006 ..

For the record: I don't miss ND trolls at all. Or ND fans. even when we won, they were annoying.

I hope we crush them this year and next, and stop playing them for a long time.

I'd much rather see home-and-aways against new and different opponents.

Let's play Oklahoma, Texas A&M, UCLA, FSU, UVA, Tennessee, etc.

ND was pretty solid last year. 10-3 with a tough SOS. For some reason I thought they finished worse than that.

doesn't look like they lost much of their roster, and only had 4 guys drafted, but their DC did leave before the bowl.

As much as I am cautiously optimistic, I don't see us blowing them out.

I could only see us winning convincingly if Patterson really is a superstar, and either Black or DPJ or both make big strides and turn into Mario Manningham and Adrian Arrington.

Come to think of it, 2006 was both of their sophomore years, right? Hmmmm...

I miss playing Washington and I really want a home and home with Georgia.

That being said, I can't wait for our defense to beat the living shit out of ND. It will be fantastic when Touchdown Jesus puts on a Michigan helmet in the middle of the game.

I think our Defense will be a wrecking crew this year and like 2006, will be pivotal in the game.


As for ND last year - the bounce back from Kelly's (4-8) debacle - they were a very experienced team and from what I've read, they lost key veteran starters. particularly on the OL. Wimbush at QB isn't anything spectacular, but it is Week 1 and it is noter dame sucks, so there's that X-Factor.


And agreed, I'd rather see some Pac-12 match ups rather than Grandpa Chicago's old favorite

I think of those years when ND was nothing special, but played us tough and/or won sloppy games: '97, '98, '04, '05, '11, '12, '13...

I guess in '12 they DID make the national title, but they were shaky all year, and barely beat us that day.

But then I think of those years where we absolutely smoked them 38-0, 41-17, 38-0. But those were all with Mr. Enormous Waistline coaching the Irish. BUT we won @ND with RichRod at the helm in 2010...

So I don't know what to expect.

I do agree our defense will be vicious though; as long as our own OL is "fixed" and Patterson doesn't make mistakes, I like our chances.

Whether we blow them out may depend on how the ball bounces; fumbles and tipped passes need to go our way

I remember years after Weis was fired, hearing ND fans still bash Ty Willingham, and express disappointment Weis "didn't work out" (no pun intended on their end).

these were suburban Chicago ND fans/alums, which are just as awful in their own special way as Local South Bend Trash ND fans.

I am with you 1000% on this. I didnt want this, but its here, so Id like to bury these dildos and move on to much cooler home and aways. Georgia would be awesome. Make it a 4 yr deal. It would be great for us especially with all the Georgia kids coming to Michigan.
