The Official Woofing and Barking Thread for THE GAME

How I feel about every OSU fan, alumni, player, and coach.

I don't miss MOST of the OSU posters from the old ESPN board.

most of them were lousy.

I'm already feeling a little jolt of adrenaline or something when I think about this game. I'm optimistic that we not only have the raw talent to win, but there are also good examples on film of lesser teams exploiting Buckeye weaknesses this year.

All I've heard from the osu fans I know are preemptive excuses in case they lose on Saturday ...

* Bosa gone
* Team down this year
* "Looks like you might finally, actually beat us"
* "Yeah, well it's not like you've beaten osu at all recently"

Fucking 10am kick-off, MST ....

10AM....that sucks!

The bottom line is that OSU just isn't as good as UM this year...it's not difficult to understand.

I'm glad some people here are optimistic. I am not in that group. I'm feeling pretty pessimistic about it. Like Vic said, PTSD.

If everything goes haywire in this game, I expect a lot of those same OSU fans to be strutting around like they never doubted, and Pope Urban's "brain cyst" to be miraculously cured.

I am also not very confident. I think based on SOS, and victory margins, we're clearly the better team. but unless we completely shut down OSU's passing game, build a solid lead early and take control this game, we'll be in a dogfight.

and in a close game down the stretch, the refs play an outsize role in the outcome, and I am still not confident in our offense if we face lots of high-pressure 3rd downs and plays in the redzone.

Every football talk sort of thing I've heard or read suggests Michigan is the better team, but I thought I saw the line was only 4 pts in Vegas, which is a toss up for The Game in my book.

I don't think this game will be easy. I also don't think it's going to leave any of us with all of our hair. That said, fuck ohio state. Need to win this. Our best Harbaugh team vs Meyer's worst? If we lose, OSU fans will never let us forget it.

I want to win this game so badly, I'm not sure I can bear to watch it. I'm not getting my hopes up, but this year's team has been ...what it has been all season. The prediction threads show most of us are cautiously optimistic and even some of the 'surprise' blowouts - Nebraska, Wisconsin and PSU - were called by the group.

it's just that it's ohio state. I was at the last victory against them and have seen three losses - the 2pt conversion game, last year's headfake comeback and 2015's blowout loss. I'm sick of it. I want my objective take on the game to be accurate and this season, the team has been what they've been.

but it's fucking ohio state in columbus.!

I was gonna watch this one, because, like 2 years ago, I was feeling pretty good about Michigan's chances. Even then, I told myself not to get too happy despite UM having the lead, because something was probably going to happen that would result in a Michigan loss. Sure enough. . .

So now, I don't know if I'll be able to stand watching this year's edition. I will probably record it, but I will delete it in a heartbeat if those turds in Cbus manage to pull yet another win out of their collective ass.

I already have a post ready and waiting for the prediction thread because of this.

He was baited into it. I don't think it means much. Both teams are going to play their ass off on Saturday anyway.

Yes now that I read more I see the baiting. ?32 years after Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh guaranteed a victory over Ohio State as a player, a senior player has done the same. When asked whether he would guarantee a victory over the Buckeyes on Saturday, just like his head coach did, senior running back Karan Higdon took a moment to think about the question. After an inquisitive look, Higdon gave an answer that will set the local and Columbus headlines on fire.
"Yeah, I do," Higdon said. "That's how I feel. I believe firmly in my brothers, this team and this coaching staff. As a captain, I'll take that stand." ?

My initial thought when I saw this was disappointment that he would give OSU more motivation (and I'm still not a fan of people's mouths writing checks their asses might not be able to cash). But then I remembered that OSU would LOVE to wreck Michigan's title game and playoff hopes; that's their motivation whether Higdon had said anything or not.
