If it seems as if the Detroit Tigers faced Ubaldo Jimenez every time they play a series against the Cleveland Indians it's because they do. At least that's been the case in 2012.
The Tigers will face Jimenez for the sixth time this season this afternoon as they go for a sweep of the Indians.
Jimenez (9-16, 5.52 ERA) is 2-2 with a 4.02 ERA in five starts against the Tigers this season and 4-7 with a 5.22 ERA in 12 career starts against them.
Rick Porcello (9-12, 4.59 ERA) will make his seventh attempt at earning his 10th victory of the season. Porcello has suffered a loss in each of his past six outings even though he has pitched well at times during that stretch.
Porcello has a 4.50 ERA in his past six starts. The Tigers have totaled 10 runs in those six starts.
Porcello is 5-3 with a 4.11 ERA in 14 career starts against the Indians, including an 0-2 record with a 5.73 ERA in two starts against Cleveland this season.
Delmon Young has a .370 average (10-for-27) with a home run in his career against Jimenez. Miguel Cabrera is 10-for-32 (.313) with a home run against him. Austin Jackson is 7-for-18 (.389).

Strange that it's a 3 pm start. I thought maybe they did that because the Browns had a home game today...but they don't...they're on the road.

I know, some strange start times, and from what was said, yesterdays start time was orders given from mlb. Mondays makeup with the whitesox is a 2PM start.

Jackson is a late scratch,
Jackson scratched from lineup after twisting left knee Sat night - looked like it was bothering him when he arrived for Sun game.
Jason Beck says it is a sore left ankle.
edit above with new lineup.

Detroit Tigers' Austin Jackson scratched from lineup one day after crashing into wall in center.

Shit.

Ajax drives this offense, without him, I'm worried.

Come on Rick, the strike zone is the area over the white thing on the ground by the batter between his knees and elbows.

Is he getting squeezed?

While some of these pitches are not close, others look like strikes on GameDay.

Maybe a little bit, I thought there were a couple at the knees he didn't get the call on, not getting the bottom of the zone perhaps.

Got a favorable strike call on that one I think, looked inside to me. we go to the 3rd.

Porcello and ubaldo both with 38 pitches through 2 innings,

Tigers lead 2 - 0.

Kevin Rand gave Rick and Doug smelling salts in the Tigers dugout.
Porcello saw the runs go on the board in the first and fainted. Fister fainted, too, merely out of sympathy.
The two runs are one more than Tigers had scored for Porcello in his last five starts combined.

Dunn not only back and ready to play vs. Tigers tomorrow...but hit a HR against the Twins already.

I saw that but still don't believe it, Delmon lined an rbi single to right, scoring Cabrera,

Tigers lead 3 - 0,

With the throw home by choo and skipping away from the catcher, Fielder didn't get to third?
