Selected the contract of OF Jacob Robson from Triple A Toledo.

Placed UTIL Niko Goodrum on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain.

Transferred LHP Matthew Boyd to the 60-day injured list.

Robson is a .294 hitter over five seasons in the minors and hitting .280 with a .397 OBP this year in Toledo. Great to see him finally get a chance.

Not a shocker. We predicted as much. Despite promises to the contrary, Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera is not playing today. He needs one more HR to hit the magic # of 500 and the Tigers have just 1 more road game before returning home for a 7-game homestand.

It was also revealed that A. J. Hinch had conversations with both Al Avila and Chris Ilitch about today's game. And you know that it was about so much more than the lineup card. Generally, owners don't take an interest in the day's lineup unless there is a big reason.

Hitting the milestone in Detroit scores the organization big points with fans. It also doesn't hurt that ticket sales and revenue will soar until Miggy hits #500. It's a win-win for everyone involved.

As players are about to hit historic milestones, many teams try to make the event happen at home. There are the fans to consider as well as a $$$ boost. So many are surprised that the Tigers organization, as well as their manager, are green-lighting Miguel Cabrera to play today.

I agree, Miggy is a streaky hitter, and he went 3-4 last night. Hinch was planning on playing him.
