Know what the dumbest idea I can think of today..Avila Chadd Littlefield Plies and a few scouts believing they are smarter than everyone else..check the track record..being smart at 1-1..not real hard..being smart at 35..hard..being smart at 50-100 very hard..check the resume.

drafting 4/5/6 seems to be a decent sweet spot..in the MLB draft..typically 4 or 5 really good players..and there's always one or two teams in the top 3.. who think they are the smartest guys in the room and fuck up.. really good players will be avalbale this year at those spots.

A.J. Hinch sat down with Jake Rogers this spring. He told him what he thought he was good at. He showed him video of things he thought he was terrible at.
A few months later, Rogers ha re-emerged as a catching weapon for the Tigers.

Tough love helped Jake Rogers re-emerge as a catching weapon for the Tigers.

Who realized that the Detroit Tigers would become a pipeline to the college coaching ranks?
Third-base coach Chip Hale is the the new head coach at the University of Arizona just a month after assistant hitting coach Jose Cruz Jr. left to become head coach at Rice University.

It's all due to A. J. Hinch's selection of coaches. MLB teams are now hiring more and more college coaches so this really is resume-building for both Cruz and Hale and will give them an edge when they want to return to MLB.

Who ever thought the Detroit Tigers would be in third place in the AL Central almost half-way through the season? April was horrible. May was .500 and for the past month, their record is 30-22.

RAPID FIRE.

The Tigers have been playing for 3 months now. Let?s continue the evaluation of each player that we first started back in May.

This list is indicative of the entire year so far, not just the month of June. Did they move up or down the list? We?ll let you know. And if there?s no notation, then there?s been no change in their grading level. We?ve also taken into consideration roster moves. A few players who have disappeared. Some on the IL with no known return date. A few call-ups.

For this blog, we are not evaluating Derek Hill, Derek Holland, JaCoby Jones, Wilson Ramos and Victor Reyes. We are adding Daz Cameron, Bryan Garcia, Matt Manning, Isaac Paredes and Wily Peralta.

What exactly have Holly and Kurt been seeing?

Locked On Detroit Tigers Podcast: Winning Streak! Weekend Series recap and Rangers recap. 39 minutes.

We are back! The Detroit Tigers have won three straight and head into a very winnable month with a lot of momentum. We recap the Chicago White Sox series and game one of the Texas Rangers series before diving into all star voting and more.

Hicks with 2-run HR, next two guys walk and both score on play Candy couldn't get 4-1. The only out was a HBP, caught stealing. Urena wild today.

Urena is all over the place with a near 50% strikes and balls of his 70 plus pitches.
Anyone warming up?

Urena out after a double 5-1 bottom 5. The run scored was a walk. Just awful.
