Very cool of Tigers and manager A.J. Hinch to invite Erie Seawolves manager Arnie Beyeler to join their coaching staff for stretch run. He'll join Tigers as an extra coach once Erie's season ends this weekend.

Not just very cool, it's very smart, too. Gives Hinch a chance to see how Beyeler rolls, more insight into Erie's prospects & a business bonding opportunity. Also gives Beyeler a learning experience and a chance for the Tigers to sync their methods on how to bring prospects along.

The Detroit Tigers are currently 70-76 with 16 games to go in the season. They were forecast to lose 85 - 105 games this year. In terms of win/loss records, they rank #20 in MLB. They were expected to be in the bottom 3 this year.
