Tigers get out of the 8th with runners on the corners and 2 out with a caught stealing at second base,

2 - 0 going to the 9th,

Two Tigers going on injured list today: LHP Gregory Soto (left ring finger fracture) and OF Derek Hill (left knee).

Infielder Isaac Paredes and outfielder Daz Cameron will be added to the roster today to replace Soto and Hill.

They're en route, should arrive in Tampa by game time.

Final: Tigers 2 - Rays 0

Record: 72-78.

Over the past nine games, the Tigers played seven against the Rays and two against the Brewers.

AJ Hinch's squad finished with a 6-3 record vs. two of the best four teams in MLB.

Detroit is 63-54 since May 8.

Another 1st place team, another series win for the Tigers.

Someone needs to buy Kiermaier a beer for trying to steal 2nd and getting caught in the bottom of the 8th. I can can guarantee he didnt have his teams blessing when he made that decision.

News: Veteran catcher Alex Avila will be retiring at the end of the 2021 season, a person with knowledge told The Athletic MLB.
Avila, 34, doesn't intend to stay out of the game for long, though.

Easy to connect the dots here. Alex's dad is the GM but don't forget that his brother, Alan, is a lawyer with the Tigers, too. Expect a family reunion.

As I said all year resilient. Lose the first two to big boss man Tampa Bay, we get the final two games. Miggy 21 hits to 3000.
