More proof that Detroit Tigers manager A. J. Hinch is keeping close tabs on what is happening down in the minors. He reads the teams' box scores and the daily reports filed by the managers and coaches after every game.

We've been reporting on how Hinch isn't simply the manager of the Tigers but that he also has a voice in player development, which is part of his background. He also calls every manager each week to check in on players' progress.

It is logical to expect him to make reports to Al Avila at the end of the year about his thoughts re the minors' development. It could be the catalyst for changing what many believe to be is a stagnant, inefficient player development system.

I feel he would be if not for his struggles this year. Just had a decent start tho so who knows? Maybe working directly with Fetter everyday is what he actually needs.

He pitched on 6/9 and he is not in today's lineup for the Mud Hens. For tomorrow's pitcher they have TBD but they have a guy penciled in for Thursday already. My guess is he gets called up.

Just read he's up and with the team. Starting tomorrow. Even if it's just for a start at least Fetter will be able to see him and be able to work with him in person. I like the move
