I didn't realize they had a day game today.

Not going that great...down 2-3 in the 7th

MLB managers, scouts and execs gave Robbie Grossman the third best strike zone judgement in baseball (via BaseballAmerica).
Should he be higher? Lower? Just right at 3?

Mize is gonna need to learn what hitters can really hurt him..and how to stay on the edges..way way too many times he leaves piches cent/center and good hitter almost never don't punish that..

How many MLB GM's and FO..essentially work for their manager..and if this is the defactco circumstance..doesn't it mean you have the least competent GM in MLB..I respect the job preservation..but name a playoff caliber team where you have a GM who is less savvy than the Manager?

Detroit Tigers fans, have you noticed the Tigers getting ready for next year? After years of keeping the same players despite poor performances, A. J. Hinch started by auditioning players at a variety of positions to determine their real skill levels and their true worth.

A number now have been lingering in Toledo. Others, who have been called up multiple times and not met expectations are starting to be DFA'd or given their outright release.

A couple weeks ago, it was a player here and a player there. But over the past week, it is coming in bunches and the frequency is picking up. The roster is being trimmed for not just next year, but to also facilitate call-ups of untested rookies who need to be evaluated.

Joe Jim?nez has a 5.97 ERA despite an opponents' xBA of .172, top 3 percent in the league. His metrics encapsulate the good and the bad of the Joe experience. But sure seems like A.J. Hinch and Chris Fetter think he's fixable.

A makeup game on a Monday afternoon saw the Tigers? lumber continue to slumber. But at least they made it interesting in the ninth.
