Mike Ilitch bought the team 30 years ago for $85M. They were good most years from 2006-2015, other than that they have sucked, big time. Team is worth probably $1.5B today. Who says you need to win to be successful?

I am surprised that the Ilitch's have such a high tolerance for so many awful seasons. Thankfully that are partially redeemed for the two pennants. But if the Tigers lose their 82nd game this season that will make it 19 under .500 seasons in 28 full seasons of Ilitch ownership.

Tigers take the lead 3 - 2 in the bottom of the 7th inning,

Tigers open it up with 2 more runs and lead 5 - 2 going to the 8th inning,

white sox get a run back in the 8th,

Tigers lead 5 - 3,

Tigers 5 - White Sox 3: LOBster fest proves another feast for the Tigers.
It was dicey at times, but some key hits and aggressive baserunning carried the day once again.

It was the Tigers' fourth straight win and their fourth straight series against a first-place team that they've either won (Tampa Bay, Milwaukee, Chicago) or tied (Tampa Bay).

Up next: The Tigers and White Sox are scheduled to wrap up their three-game series on Wednesday at 1:10 p.m., but the weather forecast makes that an iffy proposition. If they play, it will be Tigers right-hander Casey Mize (7-8, 3.64 ERA) against White Sox righty Reynaldo Lopez (3-3, 3.00).

If the game is rained out, the Tigers won?t play again until Friday night, when they open their final home series of the season against the Kansas City Royals. Friday is Miggy Celebration Day to recognize him reaching the 500-homer milestone.

Tigers are 18-15 this year against teams currently in first place.
6 wins from 80.
7 wins from .500.
8 wins from above .500.

10 Tigers games remaining.
