Tigers at Yankees Preview: Struggling Tigers take on one of league?s best pitcher; probably won?t go well.
The Toothless Tigers take on Gerrit Cole, who is very good at pitching, and the Yankees on Friday night in the Bronx.

Game Preview.

On MLB Radio today, 2 former GMs continued the discussion of the Tigers rebuild (or "rebuild" if you prefer). They both agreed that Casey Mize and Tarik Skubal were brought up too soon.
The rationale, they said, is that the Tigers probably preferred that these rookies receive their managing and coaching from Hinch and Fetter, rather than from those running AAA. Not exactly a vote of confidence for those in charge at Toledo.
One also said that he believes the Tigers will finish dead last this year in MLB.

Totally Tigers

TIGERS CONTINUE ROAD TRIP WITH WEEKEND SERIES AGAINST THE YANKEES: The Tigers continue their nine-game road trip tonight as they begin a three-game series against the New York Yankees. Due to the regionalized schedule implemented by MLB in 2020, the Tigers and Yankees did not meet last season. The two teams last met in 2019, splitting the six-game season series. Detroit took two-of-three games from New York (AL) the last time the two teams played at Yankee Stadium from April 1-3, 2019.

MIGGY MILESTONES: Miguel Cabrera will look to continue his climb up the MLB all-time leaderboards this weekend. Entering tonight's game, Cabrera has 2,872 hits in his Major League career, and is one hit shy of tying Babe Ruth for 45th place all-time. Additionally, Cabrera's next double will be his 400th in a Tigers uniform, making him the eighth player in franchise history to reach that milestone. His next two-bagger will also be the 583rd of his career, tying him with Robin Yount for 21st in MLB history. Finally, Cabrera's next extra-base hit will be the 1,089th of his career, equaling Jim Thome for 23rd in big league history.

HITTIN' HAROLD: Harold Castro went 1x3 in the second game of last night's doubleheader at Chicago (AL). After starting the season 0x9, Castro has heated up at the plate in recent games, hitting safely in five of his last six contests. Over that stretch, Castro is batting .412 (7x17) with three RBI.

They always say that when guys struggle. If they have been pitching better they wouldn't be saying a thing. Mize will be 24 tomorrow how long are you suppose to wait.

27 punchouts in 2 SHO games...lol...that's like striking out more than every other AB.

Plus the 13 Ks in game 1 yesterday=40 strikeouts in 23 innings, scoring only 1 run vs 24 runs against.

This "team" could wind up being the worst ever in Tigers, and modern MLB history.

Oh and Fuck You, Chris Ilitch and Al Avila....zero progress in 5 years.
