Titus Young new felony charges

He had talent. You can't deny it. Troubled youth, growing up in the ghetto. What's that, about 75% of the NFL? He was getting drafted regardless. Lions just get the worse of the worse....never fails lol

With the millions that get spent on players I'm surprised a fund isn't created by teams so they can assign the equivalent of mentors to players. I'm sure the NFLPA would have something to say about it but more needs to be done attempting to prevent the more obvious cases instead of "I hope this young guy with mental imbalances doesn't do something stupid with a few million dollars..."

It only makes fiscal sense for the teams investing the money in the player and in their teams.

True but doing so and having that player pay attention is another thing. These kids haven't had 500 dollars of extra money to spend. They spent their free time getting their kicks with the dregs of society, doing drugs and the like. Give the same kid millions of dollars, its just a bad recipe.

Once upon a time people like Titus were declared insane and sent to the local asylum, thereby removing them from society. Nowadays he simply has an "illness" as if he contracted influenza. All he needs is "help", like a box of alkaseltzer and a few days rest will cure him. Did you look at Jefferey Dahmer and say "He's got an illness .. he needs help."?

Obviously I'm using an extreme example to make a point, but I won't fall for the guilt trip terminology. The words crazy, loser, and failure all apply to Mr. Titus Young Sr. The only person that I feel bad for is Titus Young Jr.

You're an idiot but that goes without saying..

Nonetheless, your reasoning makes no sense. But at least you made an extreme example.

People who do not have valid counterpoints are typically the ones who respond with insults. A kitten trapped in a plastic shopping bag needs help. This guy needs incarceration. Put yourself in the shoes of the victims instead of the offender and my reasoning makes perfect sense.

Check the board, idiot is not an insult set by our Commander and Chief..

The guy needs incarceration I don't disagree. How long? Two years? Three years? So let's send him to become more ripped and more angry at the society that sent him there. Let's let his bi-polar tendencies, fears and discontent grow inside of him. Let his paranoid delusions become reality because people WILL be out to get him. Then let's release him with no additional coping skills and say "Alright asshole, don't fuck up again!"

What do you see him doing after that? Learning his lesson and going back to school for his Masters? Or saying "fuck it" and doing something worse than he has done to this point?

Then what are you suggesting they do with the guy?

I was asking the question of you. There needs to be an attempt at correction and mental health services. Don't coddle but recognize the issue is menal illness and commit the resources to attempting to give him coping skills rather than hiring more police to hopefully catch him trying to steal his neighbor's car stereo.

Whole lot different than jail!! In there less time and are there enough resources? He'll coast....

You still haven't said what you want. Lock him up, let him out, arrest again. Wash, rinse, repeat.

That's what our society is. There are so many imbalanced and angry unprepard people. My goal in life is to keep them out of my sphere.

No idea really. Either or is fine. Sad thing is, when they get back into society, they will get in trouble again. Next time might be worse like a murder or even suicide. Titus seems to be going down that road. Unfortunately they will get out again though.

I know i'm going to sound like a bastard here, but oh well. If i was sick, drugged out, freaked out mental case who could not be helped in any form, i would want someone to end my life. For so many reasons.....1) I don't want to hurt someone or even kill someone....2) I don't want to harm myself.....3) I would not want to be a burden on my family or friends and endanger them or anyone. This is only a last resort. Yeah yeah yeah, what about your family? Do you think your family wants to see you like this? No, they don't...

Now if this makes me out to be a monster, so be it. I know it's not socially acceptable and i completely understand that. But if someone you love dearly is losing their mind through drugs, alcohol or just plain going crazy and they can never be helped, why watch them suffer?

Tony, you can't assume they can never be helped. If people just give up on others, what's the point of life? Ah, he's got a drug problem, throw him to the scrap heap.

I love reading stories about people who are in the bottom of the barrel, and then recover to make something of themselves. It happens more than you think, and more than the news would have you believe. The news shows you all the crap, murders, etc... There is a lot of great stories that aren't discussed because they just aren't exciting.

So we should kill them, lol. And you obviously have no idea how a suicide can fk up a family.

I'm not saying just give up immediately. If you know a person can't be helped or chooses to not be helped, then what are your options? Keep putting him in jail and the hospital, keep feeding him pills until he doesn't want to anymore? Then it all happens again and again and again.....it's exhausting.

It's an easier subject until you have a family member or friend who has these issues and it is you tasked with the assignment of "putting them down". Now you have to envision yourself racking one in to the chamber of your .40 and putting the barrel behind the right ear of your childhood friend and pulling the trigger so they'll exist no more.

I leave you with this excerpt from "The Unforgiven"
The Schofield Kid: [after killing a man for the first time] It don't seem real... how he ain't gonna never breathe again, ever... how he's dead. And the other one too. All on account of pulling a trigger.
Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Hardest decision you'd ever have to make in life.

Great flick too...

Didn't think a dummy like yourself would get what i was saying.

I think I was pretty spot on..problems with family, don't want to hurt them "I rather just kill myself." Except a suicide hurts a family even more..

I never said suicide was the answer. So you're not even close to being spot on...
