2 star recruit to 1st round pick. Congrats Trae Waynes!

It's nice to have a first rounder in two straight years, I think we should have two first round picks next year

Cook and Conklin are first rouders next year and maybe Calhoun too.

I think Jack Allen would go in the second at least.

Langford lands in a good spot in Chicago in the 4th, Lippett to the Dolphins in the 5th. Right about where the predictions were for all 3 so far.

I cant believe TL didnt go until the 5th round, I think the guy is nails.

MSU continues our streak of having someone taken in every one of the 49 nfl drafts, one of 5 teams to do that

Sounds like a DS tidbit. I emailed him on Facebook but it looks like he is absent there.

Kurtis Drummond-Houston

Taiwan Jones-NY Jets

Marcus Rush- San Fran

Andrew Gleichert-Philly

I don't see Cook being a first rounder. Obviously, expectations will be very high, but that could work against him. Plus there are some big question marks with the departure of Lippett and an untested running game not to mention his inconsistency. 2016 doesn't appear to be a very deep draft at QB so he has that going for him, but I could see him being the 2nd or 3rd QB taken behind Hogan and maybe Boykin. I've only seen Prescott play a couple of times and was underwhelmed but there could also be a wildcard somewhere that has a break out year.

Agree on Cook. Kid makes plays, but his completion % is still pretty low. I'd be happy to be wrong on this though.

Me too and I'm sure certain people will take my post the wrong way. Cook is a very good college quarterback and barring a disastrous year or unforeseen mishap, I would expect him to go in the first 2 or 3 rounds. Saying he's not a first rounder isn't being particularly critical.

I watched the Cotton Bowl again this weekend and although he was lauded as the hero (and rightfully so), he didn't have a very good game. His 2 INTs easily could have been 4, missed a lot of open guys, made the horrible turnover, etc. even on the winning drive he was like 2 for 8 missing wide open guys 4 times. BUT, his talented and the dude has stones like a howler monkey, he shook off the mistakes and made plays when he needed to.

17 weeks and 3 days until kickoff - can't wait!

Cook isn't perfect but can you think of a better QB at MSU? I can't really thinkg of one, Cousins had a great career but had a lot of horrible games, who else?

Didn't Cook have most of a season worth of mediocre and bad games? Except for ND, they happened to be wins, but he really didn't come on until the Nebraska game, right? But what does that have to do with whether or not he'll get drafted in the first round? Nobody is saying he's not a good QB. Whether he's a better quarterback than Cousins or Stanton or whoever is a fair point to debate but even if he is the best, that doesn't automatically make him a first rounder.

There were talks this offseason that the Jets couldn't wait to get their hands on him if he was to come out as a junior. Maybe they would've traded down, but I'm sure he would've gone in the first round.
