There were talks this offseason that the Jets couldn't wait to get their hands on him if he was to come out as a junior. Maybe they would've traded down, but I'm sure he would've gone in the first round.

I think they would have traded down - they waited until the 4th round to take Petty. I'd be surprised to see Cook in the first round given Petty (3rd QB drafted) didn't go until early in the 4th round. I'm not saying Cook wouldn't go ahead of Petty but I don't think he's 2 full rounds better than him and would expect him to get drafted closer to where he did than where Winston or Mariotta did.

Or was that a joke about the Jets? I live in the NY area and I hear a lot of them, particularly when it comes to the draft so it's sometimes hard to tell - it wouldn't be the Jets' worst move ever...
