There's this anonymous New York Times Op Ed, purporting to describe a group of senior members of the Trump administration that are actively interfering in some of Trump's work. I could see this being exaggerated or false; some element of the administration (including Trump, I believe) sees a certain kind of bad, but harmless, press as a good thing - a distraction from more important things. But if it's true, what's the motivation here? It would upset Trump and maybe make him paranoid, maybe make him clean house, maybe make him take steps to see that his orders aren't subverted. I suppose it could signal to others that they might be able to get away with resisting. But these are supposed to be republicans that are on board with the orders coming out of the White House that they don't sabotage. So are they worried that orders they want to block are going to get through?

I don't know. It's not obvious to me what this means.

They go on to say the 25th amendment could 'cause a crisis' but then in the same breath admit to doing whatever else they can to stop him or slow him down. They sound like chicken shits that are waiting for Trump to be gone and then they'll be like "Oh, I never really liked the guy! I was just supporting my country!"

Trump was voted by America to be president and people within his own party are actively (alledgedly, and even then "sort of" undermining him). That's some Hilary Clinton type shit and it's deliciously ironic.

We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous.

THIS is why you continue to do what you do. Check the sanctimonious "we don't want to cause a crisis" bullshit at the door. Simply opportunistic politicians as usual. Thought we were draining that swamp?

That makes sense. A much simpler explanation than where I was going. ...and I've seen people do this. Not until the head trouble maker lost his power, but once he did, his primary assistants were saying things like "You don't understand how bad it was. He's twice as crazy as you think he is." That was followed by a period of the head crazy guy trying to publicly smear the assistants before things settled down.

One clue as to who wrote it is the use of the word "lodestar" which has been used by pretty much nobody but Mike Pence. So it's either Pence, one of Pence's past speechwriters, or someone that wants you to think that it's him.

this is all so stupid.

everyone involved in this - including the NYT, Trump, and every single person in his administration - are awful

I think Trump has just about had enough and will be taking the gloves off soon. JMO. stay tuned..

I?m not 100% sure Trump isn?t behind this himself.

Why wouldn?t he be?

It gives credibility to the deep state theory, which includes the collusion of the fake news media.

Didn't people accuse Erdogan of being behind the coup that he used to justify going after all his adversaries? And who loves all that strongman BS more than Trump?

My money is on it being co-authored by Christopher Steele, John Podesta and Peter Strzok.

I don't see that option available, and the odds would be a lot better for you than the -310 they have on the field right now.

Had to be George Soros. He pretty much runs the world I heard.

Either him or that #PlaidShirtGuy ...
