It's amazing how little he cares about having any credibility whatsoever. he just blathers out whatever bullshit he wants and moves on, leaving everyone else in DC sitting their arguing about it, as though it SHOULD be taken seriously. (note: except Bernie Sanders, who is still out trying to get shit done)
During the campaign some described him as "brilliant" for figuring out how to manipulate the system. I don't think it's brilliance... I realized at some point that to the extent his only real achievement in life was realizing that a larger-than-youd-expect portion of the population were also pathological liars and didn't care.
they identify with a guy who comes in and talks tough, but disappears when it actually comes to putting in some hard work, or fighting a fight. they admire Trump for taking that kind of mentality to the front pages of the NY Post and Daily News in the 80's (the fact that his house-of-cards all fell apart is not an issue, in fact they probably think it's great).
they loved his appearances in WWE, and the Apprentice, and are beside themselves with glee that a complete fraud could get into the White House, exposing the fake-theatre of DC politics for what it really is.
he's lucky that during the primary, he had to face the most spineless bunch of GOP candidates they've ever put together. and in the general election, only Hillary Clinton, probably the worst candidate the Dems have ever run as well. Had either party run anyone with balls, the result would've been the same as it was in '12.
