At Ford Field - Saturday November 24th, 4:30 PM

Division 5 Finals.

Hudsonville Unity Christian Crusader (11-2) 81.444 at Portland Red Raiders (13-0)
95.111.

Class size Hudsonville is at 602. Portland is at 550.

The Crusaders have only been around since 2003 and are 84-79 overall. This will be their first final appearance. Their offense has scored 448 points with the defense has allowed 308 points. Last weeks 7 allowed to Swan Valley was the lowest they have allowed. This team is a wing T offense that can come from behind. Their two losses in the tough Ok Green are to D3 Zeeland East and Zeeland West. They were down 27 in the district finals to Muskegon Oakridge and came back and won.

The Red Raiders from Portland are a high school football power. Since 1950 they are 419-216-5. They have one championship in 2012 and numerous playoff appearances. This year on offense they have scored 388 and allowed 106. They have 5 shutouts this season on defense.

I do feel That Unity Christian plays in a slightly tougher league with much bigger schools. But I also think this will be a real close game. Like last possession type game. Portland beat Lansing Catholic Central twice this year in close games. Class wise Uc is bigger. Such a tough call in this Private verses public school battle.

This is a pick-em game to me ....I am taking Portland

Bracket.

Sadly its Unity Christian up 28-0 at halftime looking to make it 3-0 in the public vs private school debate with one game left tonight.

Uc wins first football title 42-7. I thought game would be much closer.
They also have won a bunch soccer titles too.

Imo It's unfair - private schools recruit. Can't believe they don't have strict rules against it.
