The sweep of O$U this weekend moved michigan all the way from eighth place to third in the tightly pack race.. All 11 teams make the CCHA tournament with the top 5 teams getting a bye the first weekend.

Michigan's remaining schedule coming up is
2 @ ND 8-5-3 (13-8-3)
2 at home verses Miami-Ohio. 8-8-2 (12-10-2)
2 with MSU. 1 @MSU, 1 In Detroit 7-7-2 (12-9-3)
2 at home verses NMU. 6-7-5 (10-8-5)
2 @ Bowling Green. 1-11-4 (6-13-5)

Ties are either shootout wins or losses which I did not list but you can find at the link.

That was a huge sweep for us when it comes to getting a bye and seeding for the tourney.

Critical weekend for Michigan Hockey. Got to keep this momentum going through the end of the seson.
GO BLUE!

The great thing about Hockey is that, unlike the NHL, all of the playoffs are 1 and done games (for the most part) and with a hockey game anything can happen on any given day. A lot of games just come down to 1 lucky puck bounce. Look at the 2005 MSU national championship team; they were very similar to this Michigan team.

I know you mentioned it just a remainder the first two rounds of the CCHA are best two out of three and that is the case for most conference tourney's. Then the final four of the CCHA starts the one and done part of the tourney... Then the NCAA is all one and done... Like you said basically a crap shoot. Like in 2009 when Michigan out shot Air Force 40-10 and lost 2-0 in the opening round of the NCAA.. God that game stunk...LOL
