You wouldn't be?

i actually would lol. with all the dumb picks at WR weve made over the years I think Hopkins would be a legit deep threat opposite calvin. But then again I wouldn't be paying nate so much.

I'm moving to Arizona in 3 weeks. If the Lions draft a wide receiver in round 2 I might just start rooting for the Cardinals.

Murphy(injury), Jennings, Nelson, Jones, Finley and Cobb. All Rounds 2 and 3 for Green Bay when they had Driver there for many years. Plus Brandon Jackson and Alex Green in Rounds 2 and 3.

If they don't get a speed WR in free agency WR is back on the board. Calvin, Hopkins, Broyles is a good combo for the future. I'd prefer CB or Safety but if Hopkins turns out to be a good player then it helps the Lions. Time will tell on that one.

Young screwed us so we move on. All that matter is they get a good player in Rounds 1-4.

We've had bad luck so why will it change? Outside CJ, we've had the Williams boys, Roy and Mike, the dude from State, Titus, the 3rd Williams boy, Derrick - 3rd round etc. Either get one from free agency, late round pick (round 5 or later) or go with Robiskie.

Or get one that is good like Calvin and Broyles(showed in flashes before injury). FA will tell us alot. If we don't get one in free agency, WR is back on the board if Mayhew deems Hopkins or whoever BPA in Round 2.

I like Devery Henderson as a cheaper speed option.

Yeah I mentioned Calvin. Too early on Broyles, the rest plain sucked.

But it doesn't mean Hopkins will suck. Just like Calvin didn't suck because Roy, Rogers and Mike Williams sucked. And if it's too early on Broyles, it's too early on Bentley, Greenwood and Green. We might not need a CB at the top of round 2 if it's too early for those guys. All depends on Houston for that one.

I'm getting sick of WR being drafted is all.

i saw a lot of Hopkins last year....calvin and Hopkins would hands down be the best duo in the NFL imo. Our offense takes a lot of targets away from outside WRs not names calvin though since we check down so much to TEs and RBs so im not really sure what the value is of a #2 WR on our team if their cap is only ever going to be 70 catches and a handful of TDs. Id like to address the defense in the draft one of these years. This is a good year for it.

Maybe they check down so much because Calvin is doubled, sometimes tripled and the number 2 isn't getting open. The only guys getting open are the slot guys, TEs and RBs on underneath stuff. Occasionaly Scheffler will down the seam. A consistent number 2 that gets open downfield would be nice. When Burleson gets open it was rarely downfield, usually intermediate stuff at best. That was supposed to be Young but he never was consistent at it even before he went insane.

I'm with you on CB or safety in Round 2 but if we actually get that blow the top off the coverage consistently WR I won't complain. Even it unfortunately means going WR in Round 2 for a third year in a row. Broyles is the futue slot guy, Young was supposed to be the deep guy but he failed. So now they might have to go back to the drawing board if free agency doesn't provide it. You like Round 3 or later but if one is there in Round 2, you know Mayhew is going to pull the trigger.

WOOT! took you 2 years but your finally coming around on young :D

i think i seen on pft that greg jennings was seeking 12 mil per lmao..at 29 coming off a few injury years..idk about all that..i did want him until i read that....i'm tired of the lions drafting WR's..but i'm also equally tired of watching calvin do it all...if they pick another WR it better turn out good damnit.

bowe should get paid the most at WR this off season. Then Wallace at like 8-10 mil. Jennings 6-8. Lowball him and see if he wants to come back to Michigan and get revenge on GB. If not you move on.

You're completely delusional on the FA market

1) Robert Meachem got 6.5 million per with a lower salary cap just last year

2) Wallace would be the #1 wide out on the market even if Bowe and KC didn't reach a deal

3) Jennings wouldn't come to Detroit on a 2 year deal with 15 mill guaranteed. He's 29, this is his last chance to cash in on a big deal. He wants not only dollars but years.
