Urban Meyer

It would be hilarious if the NCAA comes down with the ban hammer on Ohio and he gets indigestion and misses his family and decides to re-retire. It is somewhat satisfying knowing that the kids that will be freshman next year for Ohio will have a different coach by the time they are seniors if his track record is any indication.

Ha, ha, yeah, and there'll be guys who will end up having played at Ohio* for Tressel, Fickell, Meyer, and whoever comes after him...

Herman Cain.

Is that where it comes from? The Columbus police blotter regarding Ohio State Players? 9 arrests for assault, 9 for robbery, and 9 for illegal posession of controlled substance?

....or does 9-9-9 mean a reduction of 27 scholarships over 3 years?

actually, he proposed the 2-2-2. Two schollies, for Two years, with a Two year bowl ban.

Then he smiled his creepy smile, and harassed some pretty womens.

yeah, that's another issue: if he's not much of a "long term" guy to begin with, what can they really expect out of him when they're possibly going to spend his first year or more under a bowl ban, and a scholarship reduction?

And how seriously is he going to take the fact that they're under probation? is he going to push the envelope in terms of introducing his players to boosters to "take care of them" while they're in school as much as Tressel did? Or is he going to have to cut back?

Is that program going to be tougher to coach when every starter isn't provided with a new car to get to practice on time?

also, on our ESPN board, someone posted an article from bleacher report that basically said meyer rode Tebow to most of his success at UF, and as soon as he was gone, Meyer got out of there before his coaching stock fell too far.

his success at Utah was mostly due to Alex Smith.

they don't expect much from him at osu

Well, any coach is only as good as his players, but it is disturbing how much Florida dropped off after he left. He most likely saw that there wasn't much talent coming back and that it was getting very difficult to recruit against FSU, MIami Fla, ALabama, and LSU...

Some things will be different at Ohio*. He isn't an outsider, but I'm still not expecting great things from him.

Yeah, but he "gets it" and he's from Ohio so that means he will re-build a gigantic wall around the state and re-establish the connections with drug dealers, tattoo artists, photographers who like to hang around with 19yr old boys and car dealerships.

What part of HE GETS IT don't you guys understand!?

They should put a wall around the school and call it a penitentiary to ready their players for their future.
