it's always a good sign when celebrities join forces with Michigan football. Russell Crowe lent his pal Lloyd Carr some moral support after the bad start in '07, and then we went on a tear, starting with a 38-0 demolishing of ND.

Where was the Funky Bunch at?

remember when he and Eminem got into it?

and then Em included him in his song Drug Ballad?
Back when Mark Wahlberg was Marky Mark
This is how we used to make the party start
we used to... MIX in with Bacardi dark
and when it... KICKS in you could hardly walk

Yeah, but when Patrick Stewart told the team to boldly go and beat the buckeyes, it didn't go as well. 2006. Great game, but a loss.

hmmm. well then, kudos to him.

there's a feature on "Am I annoying" where you can search for people based on their alma mater, or at least the school they attended.

I was surprised by a few of the names I wasn't aware of. we all know James Earl Jones, Mike Wallace, Lucy Liu, etc. But I didn't know Gilda Radner, Felix Pappalardi, Bill Ayers, Valerie Jarrett or Cathy Guisewite were fellow Wolverines.

I knew Radner. Ayers rings a bell, but I can't claim that I knew it. It's not like I had the chance to pal around with him. I don't even know the rest of those names.

edit: I knew about Radner. It's not like we were pals either.

Who's Verne Troyer?

I'm embarrassed to admit, but I'm a little short on my pop culture knowledge...

he was Mini-Me in Austin Powers, and then on some reality tv shows.

Valerie Jarrett is on the White House staff.

Pappalardi was a musician, song-writer, arranger & producer. he played with the band Mountain, writing their hit song "Mississippi Queen" (which I can't stand) and played a significant part in the English supergroup Cream as their producer... Cream was Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker... COME ON, man.

Cathy Guisewite is a cartoonist most well know for her comic strip, Cathy.

the way Gardner celebrated after throwing a TD pass to Wahlberg cracked me up:

looks like they're having fun.
