Weird Stats in mlb

I always thought hockey was the strangest sport, stat wise, as we've seen how often one team can dominate on shots yet lose the game/series. Wings have done this numerous times, the most recent being against Nashville, of course. Yet, to me MLB has some oddities as well. Note that the Rangers have outhit the Tig's 43 to 12 and outscored them by an even dozen, 22 to 10. All Detroit has to do is win tomorrow (and I have tepid but real optimism that Smyly will do the job) and they will have evened the series on Texas.
As I say, these stats are mind blowing. Maybe not as mind blowing as playing a stiff who's batting .059 b/c he's similtaneously stealing 5 extra large from the Pizza guy's money pit (can you say RUBBING SALT IN THE WOUND?!!!!!!!!), but it's close.

10-0 is just like 1-0. A loss or win is just that, no matter what the score.

Didn't we beat them 6-3 in the regular season last year only to lose 4-2 in the playoffs.. If I am not mistaking we have dominated the Rangers except last years playoffs when we were extremely banged up. Hopefully the Rangers will not be playing as good if we are lucky enough to meet them in the playoffs again this year...

Yeah, it feels like we have just been dominated this series (mainly because we have) It would definitely feel great to nab a split, especially after getting outhit 43-16 in the first 3 :D

What would be really cool is if we won Sunday 1-0... I mean not for all of our tickers and the Tiger hitters but to really cool down the rangers would be good.

If this happens, I'm assuming we will score our one run on a solo shot, and the Rangers will scatter 10 hits, but come out with nothing...which I'm perfectly fine with if we nab that win.

I guess this was what I was getting at. Rarely do I recall seeing a series where a hot team crushes you 2 straight, outhits you in the 3rd and could have (but, drats, did not) lost the last and have the series tied at 2 each. btw...update: Cringe is now lower than .059...
