I had no idea they asked for Mantha and a first in exchange for Phaneuf. Out of their minds. I don't know what world they live in were Phaneuf is still a top player.

Further, I don't know why Wings fans seem obsessed with getting Phaneuf considering he is nowhere near a top dman anymore.

To trade for Phaneuf Toronto better be willing to eat a lot of salary and/or take back bad contracts in return. I don't even think it makes a lot of sense to trade for Phaneuf with Oullet and Marchenko waiting in the wings.

Phaneuf capped out at 44 points from his time in Toronto. He is considered the most overrated player in the league by his compatriots. He is not a stand out defensive player.

Why in gods name does anyone want to trade for this man?
