This is ridiculous at best. Nkemdiche and one of his buddies commited to Clemson a day apart. Doesn't even blow Georgia a kiss(his home state team, who is on the rise recently)and shoots down every other team in the south including Bama and LSU. I call shenanigans. I started a thread last year about this same BS at Clemson. The last 15 years they have been getting great players out of high school. They've made the top 20 only once in the past 18 years. They suck every year and they still land these kids. Its unbelievable. And also, last year's ACC title was their first in over 20 years(pathetic when you consider all the 4 and 5 star kids they get). Clemson is the Ohio* of the south, no question. The only difference is, Ohio* has had better coaches. I hope they get blown out again this year.

My buddy and I have a long running, yearly bet on Clemson. At the beginning of the year we both pick the shitty team on Clemson's schedule we are sure they will lose to. Typically the higher Clemson is ranked in the preseason, the earlier the "upset" happens. Whoever wins gets a night of drinking on the other's tab. This bet pays out every year.

Didnt some stuff come to light last year about them paying for a recruits hotel bill in fla and things for his family? I am sure they will get busted eventually.

Do I think they cheat? Yeah. But that doesn't mean recruits won't commit simply because they fall in love with the coaches and love the campus. It's not a big deal IMO, it's not like this is the first recruiting shocker ever.

Buddyboy, I love your recruiting posts and your insight, but this is an ongoing thing. A very loooooong ongoing thing. You give this school good coaches over the last 20 years and your talking at least 3 NC's or at least 3 NC game appearances. They've absolutely sucked and they still get top notch recruits. Michigan sucked for 3 years and didn't get shit. We are far and away a waaay more recognizable school than Clemson. Do the the math.

I think that was North Carolina. And they did get busted.

come now, haven't you seen Dabo Sweeney's hootin' & hollerin' ?! who dont want to play for Dabo?!

Actually, Michigan's recruiting has been so strong since Hoke showed up, if you weren't a Michigan fan, you might think something fishy is going on...or maybe not. I haven't heard any accusations yet.

Clemson had a bunch of boosters banned from contact a couple years back. all the same scumbags were partners of our dumbfuck former coach in his real estate venture.

people like that tend to feel that the rules don't apply to them, so I'm sure they're still funneling money to recruits to hang out on their yachts, bang whores, drink, smoke weed, blow through lines of coke... all for the privilege of getting them to win a couple games for a shitty program at a shitty southern school.

Put 2008 through 2010 behind you. I know some think UM was born yesterday, but Michigan has always been a top recruiting school minus the Rich Rod years.

The noter dame sucks guy in the office who played D-III wanted to play at ND and Mattison was on staff there at the time ...well he says Mattison is "sketchy" but can't really say what that means. He said something about promising playing time but that's the furthest thing Team 134 seems to convey.

Maybe the staff is just asking kids how bad they want a chance to beat Urban Meyer?!

UM and Clemson are different, Michigan is Michigan - a huge program and winningest college football program ever. What has Clemson ever done?

Winningest just doesn't sound right, is that even a word?

:rush:

aw geez, Notre Dame sucks.

There were some questions about Sammy Watkins but I cant find much. Most of what I find now has to do with his drug arrest. But this is what I was talking about.

ALLEGATIONS DATE BACK TO 2010 WHEN TIGERS WERE RECRUITING UNNAMED PLAYER
The family of a Clemson University football “superstar” allegedly received improper benefits from a Florida hotel executive with close ties to former Tigers’ assistant coach Brad Scott, multiple sources tell FITS.

The benefits – which reportedly included free lodging at the luxurious Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort and Spa in Fort Myers, Florida – were allegedly provided to the player’s family in 2010 while he was a Clemson recruit.
Multiple employees at the resort have confirmed that the player’s family was put up at the hotel for an extended period in 2010. They have also confirmed reports that the hotel’s general manager – Cory Clark – bragged about the arrangement.

Attempts to reach Clark and Clemson regarding these reports were unsuccessful. Our sources have yet to name the player whose family allegedly received these improper benefits, but the resort in question is located in the hometown of Clemson All-American freshman wideout Sammy Watkins – and Watkins is the only player on the Tigers’ roster from Fort Myers.

Also, with due respect to the other Sunshine Staters on Clemson’s roster – Watkins is the only one who can reasonably lay claim to the “superstar” mantle.

Scott – a former Florida State assistant and University of South Carolina head coach – retired as Clemson’s offensive line coach in February of 2011 to take an administrative position within the Clemson football program. Sources have confirmed that Scott and Clark met at a Hootie and the Blowfish “Monday After the Masters” golf tournament several years ago.

Our sources also say that the NCAA recently began looking into the allegations but has yet to decide whether to open a formal investigation.

Obviously gifts – including free or reduced lodging – to family members of college prospects are expressly forbidden by the NCAA.

The Tigers won their first ACC championship in 20 years in 2011, although a potential “dream season” season ended on a disastrous note when West Virginia obliterated Clemson in the 2012 Orange Bowl. The Tigers started the season 8-0 but lost four of their last six games – including a third straight defeat at the hands of their arch-rivals, the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.

FITS is continuing to investigate these allegations and will bring you additional information – including responses from Clark and Clemson – as soon as they are available

The Clemson Tigers are always on the cusp of being a national power. They never get there, except for the BS title they won in who cares when.

Yeah, great classes are to be expected, but even compared to pre-2008, we're probably looking at next year's class being the best ranked class since they started ranking them. Not that ranking is everything (or even close)...but some people think it is.

Fortunately, that seems to be the opposite of what recruits are saying now. I'm not sure if I could pick out quotes about Mattison specifically.
