About the killing of the three Jewish people???

Just curious. I guess everyone has simply been too busy.

All I know is it is a good thing anti-semitism is dying off lately. This guy has obviously been crazy for decades and not sure why he waited so long since he probably haf more followers in the '80s and could have done this type of thing with a group instead of solo.

They seem to have a solid case for the hate crime aspect. Hopefully he gets the Death penalty, but his lawyers will probably get him off on an insanity plea.

If only he had that brain chip (figured I woukd say it since others reading this undoubtedly are thinking it).

Well it was, or should have been, evident my thread was directed more toward the focus on guns than the Jewish aspect, sorry if that didn't come across. Understandable considering I'm one of the token Jews.

How upset do you think this guy is knowing he didn't kill a single Jew during his attack?

Digressing, very sad for the victims. The guy obviously never received the proper psych help or drugs he needed and people died as a result.

Generally, or at least in my understanding, one doesn't associate Jewish people with slave ownership.

Herrod was pretty insane and tyrannical, or at least history tells us of that.

In the Jewish Books that predated Jesus (I was raised to simplistically to refer to them as The Old Testament; and I still don't know them all that well) there is evidence that Jewish societies were oligarchical; but then, pretty much all of societies throughout history have been oligarchical.

Jesus's stories in the parables also reflect oligarchical societal constructs whenever social structure is part of a story.

Oh - Happy Passover, everyone.

We lit candles and ate traditional Passover food, and even read a little from the Haggadah.

We tried to remember all of the plagues; I missed a few and I was wrong when I said that one of the plagues is that Egypt will never win the world cup in football.

Or maybe I wasn't wrong; as the Jesus was Married thread demonstrates, a whole lot of stuff may have been omitted from the Bible, or whatever a more accurate characterization of the Judeo-Christian Holy books might be titled.

Perhaps the board community figured someone else would start a thread about the recent killings by "Glenn Miller" ...who killed Denver radio personality Alan Berg about 30yrs ago, a murder paid for by The Order; an Arian group in the PacNW.

What, doesn't anybody on the board care about Jewish Denver radio hosts who were outspoken against White Supremacy groups before it was fashionable to be and who were murdered in cold blood about a quarter-mile from where I live right now, when I was about nine??

I have to admit Vic, I wad unaware of those specific events. It really is nice that the hate groups havr been in decline, gives hope for a better future. Sad that anyone had to die in the effort to denounce them and make the future better.

Happy and healthy Passover Tinsel, and any others who celebrate Passover as Jesus himself did, as he was Jewish and all. Too bad the "editors" who wrote the New Testament never referred to The Last Supper as a Passover Seder...but they did their best to make Jesus as non-jewish as possible...which still results in extremist nut jobs perpetuating anti-semitism.

Tinsel, have you heard the one about the old Jewish man who is on his way to pray at temple buy it is a bitterly cold day and his aged body just can't walk any further so he stops at a church that is along the way. At the church he starts doing all of his religious prayers in traditional Jewish style. After a few moments, a priest says over the loud speakers, "any non-christians must leave immediately". The old man continues his prayers. Again the priest comes on, only louder, "all non-christians must leave immediately!". The old man ends his prayers, walks up to the baby Jesus, grabs him up gingerly in his arms and starts to walk out saying, "Come along dear boy, we are not welcome here."

Its better in Yiddish, but still funny.
