Im just wondering why Ryan Broyles was activated and did not see the field? IMO he wouldve been THE key receiver of the game working in the slot. Just makes no sense to me

Why would he be the key wr in the game if he wasn't good enough to be activated week one? He wasn't hurt or suspended was he?

I dont think he knee is 100% yet. I always thought there plan was to bring him around slowly

Maybe backup, in case Titus did something stupid again, and they needed a replacement #3

That's what I was thinking. Apparently he was half-assing on plays. Sounds like a Micheal Crabtree Jr. . It would be nice for Broyles to light a fire under him when he gets healthy.

I dont think we drafted him for what he would do this year as much as the next few years. He was a rd 1 WR we got late in the 2nd.

He was drafted for next year. It was explained by Mayhew a few times. He was too good of a talent to not draft him where the Lions got him.

Some people on this board don't get it. He has come along in his rehab at a phenomenal rate and the Lions didn't expect it. He is a nice insurance policy for Titus if Titus keeps acting the way he does.

I am not complaining at all. The pick shocked me at first but I understood it. He will be a solid player and he isnt near the knucklehead that Young as been so far.

Yeah before he got hurt he was considered Top 20, by most and higher even by some.

if he was a top 20 talent hed be playing over titus. Dude isnt even dressing. Hes not a top 20 talent. Most teams play their top 20 picks....

He played in the pre season....

So youre saying they played a top 20 pick before he was even healthy?....thats even more brilliant.

He didn't play much. That's the "bring along slowly" theory that's been mentioned.

We have enough receivers that Broyles won't need to be rushed.

I didn't think you were complaining, bro. :)

Not necessarily. He suffered a horrific injury. Before that, he was a 1st round talent for fun. He's the all-time leader in receptions in NCAA college football i believe. He was a fn stud in college before his injury.

There is no reason to rush him right now. Now, if Titus keeps acting like a 3 year old, then maybe something needs to be done. For now, treat the guy with kid gloves and hopefully he can light a fire under Young's ass. It's all up to Titus.

He doesn't dress because of the injury. Not because of his "talent". There's obviously still cause for concern for that leg.

I really like the fact that after Broyles was drafted he reached out to Barry on advice on how to handle the NFL life. Barry has given him financial advice and advice on how to handle other off the field issues.

Yeah from all I've heard he sounds pretty mature. I think that was part of the appeal was not only his talent and value, but from a character standpoint seemed like a pretty safe pick.
