Right now?

Just wondering everyone's take on how many games having Schwartz/Gunther/Linehan have cost us this year?

Hard to say considering we've never done anything with any coach. I still pin the overwhelming majority of the responsibility on the players. I do wish we were more creative on defense and at least blitzed a bit more (especially against rookies and inexperienced QB's).

I hated the call on the fake field goal in Pittsburgh. That's about the only coaching move that sent me through the roof. IMO that flipped the game and was completely unnecessary. I blame coaches for that one. We could easily have a few more wins if we didn't turn the ball over so much. Guys have to hang on to the ball and Staff can't throw some of those terrible interceptions he's had this year.

But it's always something with the Lions and it's always been like that for as long as I can remember. Something is always out of sync. If the offense plays well the defense will make a mistake or special teams will break down or a bad turnover or the refs bone us (this is happening a hell of a lot lately) or a guy makes an improbable 61 yard FG. It's just always something.

im struggling with if its the coaches or the players...playcalling can be horrid at times. defense is bad and we never try to adjust...not sure if its cause our personel limits our ability to adjust or if Gunther is just senile. Then you have the coaches blatantly doing things to lose us games like throwing the challenge flag last year, not kicking the FG this year, or not calling the timeout last week to run a minute off the clock at the end of the game. Id have to think a diferent offense would lead to a more consistent offense that doesn't turn the ball over so much. Analysts this week keep calling Stafford a gunslinger....gunslingers are supposed to hit their targets aren't they? I still think Stafford is average at best and youre not going to go very far with an average qb unless you have an above average defense...which we don't have. As far as the poll goes....I think 9 is fair. But this isn't a 9 win team....its a 9 because our schedule has been easy and the division is down this year. Our 1 good win this year was vs the bears early....and that's basically it. Even with a great coaching staff this team goes 1 n done in the playoffs as is. Moving forward I hear a lot of radio hosts saying Detroit is the most enticing of the potentially open jobs due to the talent and we have a qb....im not sure if candidates would feel the same. I think they might like a situation that allows them to get their guy at qb and have time to rebuild the way they want. if someone new come sin here next year the expectation is going to be to win now. That's not ideal to everyone.

Last week was just stupid. YOu could tell what the Ravens were doing by not hurrying and running clock because they knew there K could make a long one. Yet we just let it roll not that it would matter with Matt "I thought you were 10 feet tall" Stafford.

Matt "I thought the endzone was 30 yards wide" Stafford

Schwartz said that 20 teams would like to switch places with the Lions because there is a scenario where they can still make the playoffs. At least he's optimistic I guess.

You know two teams that wouldn't fucknuts Schwartz? They're in your division.

True but far from over. One team definitley getting one loss too. 4-1 divison. That tie really screwed us (since Lions win all division tie breakers) along with Dallas too.

Oh well, we'll see if they can in fact go 2-0.

I can see GB losing to Pitt without A-Rod but I can't see the Bears losing to the Eagles, maybe and this is a big maybe, if McCoy can run wild...but the Eagles aren't very good.

Are you serious. Bears could easily lose at Philadelphia to Foles and company. Bears run D is atrocious. McCoy huge game on Sunday night.

You didn't specify the degree of coaching upgrade, so I went with the Max because the best coach ever would be capable of going undefeated.

Yeah because that only happen once. I know Staff is as good as Brady.
