Did you cook your meals and heat water in the fireplace?

I spent beaucoup bucks prior to the Y2K date bug "warning", including a fireplace blower/heater system and a whole house generator. Replaced my double fuseboxes (one for the sunroom addition) with a circuit breaker box. Fortunately I was able to return both the generator and fireplace heater later through my late MIL who worked @ Sears back then.

I took a lot of heat for my prep efforts from my rich bitch sister and BIL, but if there would have been any interruptions, they knew where they would go...dlol.

I did have a gas fire place in the basement to keep it warm and we could light the stove on for soups and stuff...

My son born of the Tech age was out of here.. Took his computer over to my sisters house.
My daughter did here thing and came back to sleep at night...

I toughed it out and just took a shower... I was worried about my sump pump as my water table by my house bad... I have a water back up and it worked good.. Went out to eat twice.. so It was not all Little house on the prairie as my wife would say..
