Tigers vs. redsox ALCS Game 6 Thread

Yet another post season clown show kills'em.

A stigma they will always have no matter who wears the uniform...it's become their post season trade-mark now and will cause them to overpay(even more than they already have)just to stay competitive in the worst division in baseball...because every player/prospect and their agent will be mindful of the stigma of Detroit...a team that simply cannot close it out.

(have the Tigers now become the Atlanta Braves of the American League?)

I'm in my 50's, do not expect to see another WS title in my lifetime.

Oh well, thanks again to all the regular posters here for making it all a little less....frustrating.

(special nod to you K.C.)

Well the Braves did get one in the 1990's early in their run... Can we do the same? It's all I ask.. I am with you. At 52 we are running out of chances to win titles...

Why pull Max anyways? Pitch count.....no fn way. Did Max want out....no chance. Leyland trying to be the smartest man in the room and fails again. Time to fn go!!

We basically have the whole team coming back next year right? Infaante needs to be resigned, that's it.

Make some moves, most of the pieces are there, one more try next year then the chance passes for good.

Harold Reynolds agrees that the strike zone for max was horseshit tonight, says max should have gotten more respect than that

Exactly. It may be disappointing to not with the whole shebang, but anyone with any sense at all has to know all you can do is get yourself in position to win, the playoffs are a crapshoot, always have been.

3 straight ALCS, who fires their manager after that?

Then our hope is he retires..

Infante, Benoit, Santiago, and I think Dotel are all FA.

Max wanted out of Game 2 so don't be so sure.

Infante can't hit off speed pitches for shit, I wouldn't mind letting him walk

Team has one more chance next season to win it, they're about to be taken apart after that.

Yep...most likely VMart and FA Scherzer will be gone...Victor since anchor-ass will need to be the FT DH by then, if not sooner.

Shame The Tigers don't get those type of breaks like teams like Boston... Such bullshit..

Well your hopes I guess. People don't like Leyland, and I get it.

What I don't get is always trying to say it's his fault when everything goes bad, but did you ever once say, hey thanks for getting us to the ALCS Jim?

He's a scapegoat, and nothing more.

Problem is we have nobody to replace him in house, and he'll likely be the best 2Bman available because Cano is going nowhere.

I'm not a constant bitch about umpires person...but you can't have that strike zone in the playoffs...let alone in a game 6 elimination game.

Probably won't happen since this is an old school game and maybe the technology needs to get a tiny bit better (but it is there) but I'd like to see them adopt a tennis replay for balls and strikes. Give teams 5-6 (whatever the number is) challenges for balls and strikes per game. The Foxtrax replay system that we all already see determines if it is a ball or strike. Just like tennis. They put it up and the screen and everyone sees if it was in or out. The entire process takes less than 10 seconds.

It's really too bad how it ended, but the Red Sox did play better than the Tigers and they deserved to win. They were smarter and crisper and made the plays they had to, and the Tigers botched too many opportunities both on offense and defense. Their bullpen was obviously worlds better too.

I don't consider myself a Leyland hater or supporter really, and I think if he were to be let go it would be unjust. However even so, the Tigers may need a fresh face in there to keep them from getting stale as others have said. I would not be opposed to exploring options at the manager position, but who really would be available?

Then our hope is he retires..

Then you and me and andthereitgoes (whoever he is with his 50 posts) can all just piss and shit and vomit all over ourselves until the day we all die (not necessarily the same day) while the Tigers command the cellar over the course of the next 25 years or so until we're dead, just like they commanded the cellar for the last 25 years or so, before Smokes came on board, and all the time we weren't pissing and shitting and vomiting all over ourselves...

And why would we have been?

We were in the prime of our lives...
