Game 6: Lions @ Saints Thread

The only actual luck in the NFL plays QB for the Colts, and unlike his surname, hasn't been so lucky, especially healthwise.

Its luck jarrad Davis forgot what the fuck he was doing and didn't cover anyone on Goaline defense.

Totally lucky agnew can't catch.

Soooooo lucky Stafford decided to stand in his end zone for 5 fucking seconds.

Super duper lucky no one on the lions can run block.

Omg...so lucky that Stafford decides to throw it right into a defenders hands 19 times to set a record over the past 20 years.

So lucky down 14 that our OC decided to run the ball, throw it -1 yards to a rb with no lead blockers and then punt it back.

... the lions were fucking awful. 3 weeks in a row. Awful.

I'm very happy these clowns aren't playing next week so that I can enjoy the entire weekend and not have my Sunday ruined by a bunch of shitty football players and coaches. My FFL team name is Sad Sack Lions.

I need 11 points from TY Hilton tonight!

Stupid Lions. This franchise just makes me want to vomit.

I like having one always positive fan all the time. The rest of us mostly piss and moan even when we win.

That's cuz even when they win we know they still looked pretty shitty for most of the game and we know it's not sustainable.

the good news for the Lions is they now have a chance at winning the division. The Bears have a rookie QB, MN lost their starter and GB lost the best QB in the game. The division is sitting there on a silver platter.

It was there for the taking couple years or so back also and they found a way to f it up. I'm sure they'll do that same this year.

I believe it is yes, but I also believe they'll find a way to blow it. Next 4 games are winnable if there are enough players left not injured. Man that O line might be the worst I've ever seen it right now. They are just god awful Tony

That's why I ask the question. I personally think we're too banged up. Nobody is fucking healthy on our team and I don't wanna hear "well, everyone is hurt in the NFL". That aint cuttin it!!! Injuries are piling on like widfire right now. When does it end??? We're set to take the North because of Rodgers being out??? Horseshit!

I think the NFL should really start looking into why players are still getting hurt so much. All their new rules haven't made anything better.

Offseason, pre-season programs, diets, field turfs, rules designed to prevent injury causing more injury, pads aren't thick enough anymore. Idk but guys are pulling hamstrings tearing ACL's getting ankles and knee's banged up more than ever these days it would seem to me.

They are awfully quiet when the Lions are winning. Got to question their fandom really

Post count per game thread:

Game 1 (win) - 346
Game 2 (win) - 591
Game 3 (loss) - 533
Game 4 (win) - 501
Game 5 (loss) - 309
Game 6 (loss) - 501

Loss total = 1,343
Win total = 1,438

Once again, you're just pulling things out of your ass. Unless these were just 'unlucky' post counts, you'll have to let us know.

I think he's referring to me because admittedly I haven't posted much this season..

Tough to tell for sure without statistics. Part of me thinks that it's a combination of the internet age and increased medical knowledge/involvement. I could easily see scenarios in the past where guys would play through injuries and we'd never hear about it, but that's basically impossible today...now we know instantly whenever a guy stubs his toe.

To add to that, the game is simply bigger, faster, and more athletically demanding than ever before. Most of the pros out there today are really pushing the limits of what the human body is capable of doing and I'm sure it takes a toll. Just look at running backs through different eras, the longevity of the position has certainly decreased over the years and that seems to hold true for most positions today.

Good observation though, the big focus is on CTE right now, but there's much more to look into on the injury trends elsewhere.

Need to know the TRUE POST count for each game before you can make any real judgement.

Go to week 1 and 2 game threads. Again people will give praise when they deserve it. They don't deserve shit right now. They're playing just as bad as sf or cle the last 3 weeks. ... probably worse than sf.

People even want to give praise for us only losing by 14 lol.... Vegas doesn't even have lines that high. 14?! Thats fucking awful football. If you want to talk about luck... we're lucky we didn't lose by 50.

The Saints are lucky they won by 14. They had the injury advantage big time and got way more fluky plays in their favor. Detroit was the better team. Take the loss and move on. Lions can still win the North. 3-3 far from dooms them. They were 3-3 last year and made the playoffs. This is a 10-11 win team and it's still happening when they get healthier.
