The Official THE GAME Game Thread

We've been saying this for a decade. And we've been right every time. This team is great when it doesn't matter, and shits the bed when it does.

Until they do anything, they are a slightly better version of the Lions.

Year 4 Hokebaugh will dominate!!!

Don't know why anyone on OSU or any fan of OSU would even want OSU in the playoffs. They'd go there and get their asses beat again. They barely beat a dysfunctional Michigan team.

i want top 8. 6 power conference champs, 2 at large. Sounds too easy...

so you want 8 teams in but don't understand how an OSU fan would want to get in?

If it?s any consolation I think this auburn win keeps them out of the playoffs

Not much. Michigan had nothing to do with keeping them out. And I wouldn't bet that Urban Cryer will not whine and cry his way into the playoff. This year's OSU team is not that good, they were ripe for the picking, but unfortunately Michigan couldn't put together a complete game on either side of the ball to beat them.

They finished about where i expected this year after losing so many seniors that started. Super young team and the defense already looks rebuilt and will only get better.

Offense: decision on a qb upcoming. Personally id love to see mccaffrey win the job and start for the next 3 years solidifying a problem weve had as of late. Peters played mistake free... he didn't play good. There's a difference. Black with peoples Jones should see increased production from wr position. Higdon earned his spot. Would like a split with walker instead of Evans but that's probably just wishful thinking.

Defense: allot of starters coming back. Would like to see Gary step up and become a first rd lock draft pick. Not sold on some of our secondary pieces...metellus and kinnel could use some competition.

We're in a much better spot next year compared to this year imo.

MSU, PSU, WISCONSIN, OSU. We all figured M would take a step backwards this season, but seeing it actually happen is still anguishing. Especially the last two weeks ? games that we?re winnable with an even moderately competent QB. O?Korn?s presser, noble as it was, also indicates the dearth of talent at the QB position.

I think the secondary will be fine, typically cornerbacks don't come right out in year 2 and play wonderfully. Lots of technique at the position to really nail down. Reminds me how jourdan lewis showed promise but was at a whole different level of shutdown by the end.

Well that's going to be quite a feat after they lose to Wisconsin next week.

I doubt there are enough cars or enough tattoo ink in Columbus to give away to pull that off.

Agree. Early un the season it was ewsy to see

Just very frustrating

They still have to beat UW to qualify for my playoff

In an 8 game format, they might win a game. They're going to get beat badly in this format.

Losing 3 starters on Oline and 3 on Dline. Road games at ND, MSU, NWN, And OSU. Then home games vs WIS and PSU. Don't see how they finish any better next year

I know people will say "well everyone picked Michigan to go 8-4 anyway" That may be true, but how many said this teams best win would come against a 6-6 Purdue team?

A LOT of time between now and next year. The defensive line seems to be an area of strength and we have a lot of talent in that position even if we lose some starters.

The offense is where we need help. QB struggles in particular cost us at least two games, if not three. Getting Black back in the fold will help. We absolutely NEED either Peters or McCaffrey to step up for sure.

I know things don't look so good right here and now, but I think there's a very good chance this team can rebound even with a tough schedule. MSU game is a coin flip these days regardless of venue. ND is the season opener, so if we win that's fantastic, but if we lose it won't be the end of the world.

The goal for next year should be Big Ten Championship. Anything less and Harbaugh needs to feel the heat.

I think given the number of starters they lost from last season, which was almost an unheard of number, 8-4 was probably par for the course for UM. Impressive that they could reload the way they did on defense. With SEC type athletes all over on that side of the ball too.

But O'Korn. Good god. That was like watching Tyler O'Connor all over again, and I'm probably being insulting to O'Connor. I gather that most weren't super high on Speight, but one has to wonder how the season might have looked if he hadn't gotten hurt.

I agree Swami .
Shit osu already has a better qb then we do already after seeing him play 1 half of football. After watching our defense get torched 31-6 after the first quarter and a back up qb scoring 17 of those points I really want to know why everyone thinks Don Brown is so special? The three years he was at BC maybe they had great stats but look at the records. Seriously I saw some pretty awful blitz packages yesterday that were beaten badly . Yeah again here we are saying we win if we have even average qb play but when will that happen? How many times do we have to say it ?
Peters ? He has little experience. McCafferty ? He has no experience. Wilton ?
When Jim ? When Pep . ? When Tim ? Competent qb play !!!!!

Boston College wins and losses 2013 to 2015

7-6 (4-4)
2014
7-6 (4-4)
2015.
3-9 (0-8)

Anyway, I'll guess I'll watch the Tastes Like Ass Bowl and hope the basketball and softball seasons - and M baseball too, of course, and hockey - although I understand hockey is off to a not that special start - are good, and hope football will be better next season.

The Tastes Like Ass Bowl is going to be played on crap, who gives a fuck date in the Tastes Like Ass suburb of Crap Destination, Crap state, at Tastes Like Ass Stadium.

ASU is looking into hiring Pep Hamilton. Please do.

It would be nice if we had a competent o-line next year. You know, one that can run block and pass block. I know that's a crazy fucking demand, but I have seen other teams do it quite often.

We have all the talent we need at RB, WR, and TE. Imagine our rushing attack if defenses have to give an ounce of a fuck about the passing game!

Don't oversell it.
