Game 11: Vikings @ Lions *Thanksgiving* Thread

"Even with Abdullah" - This guy should be gone.

I still don't don't think Detroit is a battleground for incoming talent. No way Bell stiffs Pittsburgh and decides to come here. Detroit usually gets the 'not quite established and may never be' free agent or the 'he might be on his last legs free agent'.

Big Ben is done next yr. They're going to be without a QB. Bell could easily leave Pittsburgh. And we have picked up solid FA's in the past. Tate, Quin are 2 that come to mind. If Bell's an option then you make a play for him.

And Abdullah will be on the final year of a cheap four year deal. Abdullah is a Lion in 2018 barring a trade. Two backs can get plenty of carries. Abdullah and a power back combined.

Would blount even want to come here. Would any free agent rb want to come here without us overpaying them? I'd like to know what their reaction is to the possibility of coming to Detroit would be. Is it "the running scheme/coaching will set me up for failure there", or will they think " this is a great opportunity on a team severely lacking talent at my position"? I'm not even sure what the problem is at this point, probably both.

Wagner, Lang, Glasgow and Decker blocking for him. A back should want to come here. They are all confident people

Exactly, we have to overpay.

Talent of the oline wasn't an option, I think the talent is there, or good enough. Coaching, scheme, rb talent

Sure hasn't helped your boy Abullah. Decker, if he wasn't injured our running game wouldn't be better. Imo. As much as run blocking was his strongest thing coming out of college our RB are terrible.

As far as wanting to come here I'd think a RB just like anyone else wants to go to a winning team.. an offensive minded team. That ain't Detroit. Too many more options over Detroit.

If you want to fix the run game... get rid of cooter. It's not the rbs. We've had like 7 rbs the last 2 years. When they all suck.... it's scheme.

Also... teach Stafford how to call a game. He sees plenty of 6 man fronts and he fails to run against them.

Don’t think it’s a great sample size, but it does sort of highlight where the issues are in the run game, primarily blocking and play calling.

Bucs, Bengals, Ravens, Chicago average in run D. Packers are 8th but falling quickly without Kenny Clark

Lions have a shot for running success. It's not like every game was a disaster. A lot but some decent games. Two over 100 yards out of 11. A few other "efficient" days

Stafford knows wtf he's doing. Jesus Christ, dude. "Teach Stafford how to call a game"? Do you know how fkn stupid you sound? He's an NFL QB. A starting NFL QB.

30th Rushing Totals. 30th Rushing Yards Per Attempt. Regardless RB, OL, Coaching - its bad.

Then why do we consistently run vs 8 man fronts and throw vs 6? The answer is simple.... either the qb is a fucking idiot or the coordinator is. We've been doing it for years.

Down and distance, 3rd downs especially. Lions run at the right times often. Stafford gives us best shot on 2nd and 3rd down. Like you would fucking know which run to switch it too. Stafford does it perfectly

Like bob keeps sayin pass to set up the run cooter not the other way around dipshit

I'm going to watch the Monday night game tonight to scout the ravens since the lions are playing them next week

Well that and I need three points from thier defense to win a ffl double header week!

Ravens - good on defense, shitty on defense. The only scouting you really need.

10 day vs 6 day rest next week...Lions should be ready to go

In that case I'll just wait till they get 3 fantasy points, jump up and down shout out a yeah! Then go to bed
