Detroit Lions - Team Notes

November 28, 2005, the Lions fire head coach Steve Mariucci, replacing him with assistant Dick Jauron. The unpopular Mariucci, who posted a 15-28 record in Detroit, is the third head coach to quit or be fired by the Lions in five years.

November 28, 2013, the Lions end their nine-game losing streak in Thanksgiving Day games, defeating the Packers 40-10.
Matthew Stafford throws three touchdowns and the Detroit defense rattles Green Bay QB Matt Flynn, sacking him seven times.

Matthew Stafford a Hall of Famer? Jim Caldwell seems to think so.

Stafford has been among the most prolific passers in NFL history at every stage of his career, including becoming the fastest QB in history to 25,000 passing yards. He hit 100 career games this year with 27,890 career passing yards, also an NFL record for that many games.

He's averaging 277.5 passing yards per game, which is second all time (minimum 100 games). And just last week, Stafford became the fastest player in NFL history to 2,500 completions.

At 28 years old, he's already 50th on the all-time passing list (28,859 yards).
