Detroit Lions - Team Notes

November 29, 1934, the Lions play their first Thanksgiving Day football game, hosting the Chicago Bears at University of Detroit Stadium.
The Bears defeat the Lions 19-16 in the Thanksgiving game, which will become an annual tradition for Detroit.
The only years the city will not host a game on Thanksgiving are 1939-44.
