MSU Football recruiting

So if Dante Moore makes it to EL this weekend, MSU will have 4 of the top 17 players in the 2023 class on campus at once. Moore is a Notre Dame lock though at #5 overall. David Hicks #4 in the country is a long shot. Francis Mauigoa also a long shot, he's #8 overall. Reuben Owens, the #1 RB and #17 overall we have a small shot with.

5 star DE Jayden Wayne will visit in June and we probably actually have a decent shot with him.

5 star OT, Samson Okunlola just visited and there was buzz we could be in it for him as the visit was a homerun.

MSU is probably top 8-10 in the country for NIL money right now, the donors aren't messing around. Not sure if top 8-10 lands the 5 stars though, although it's crazy to even get 6 five stars on campus in such a short time.

Rivals has Julian Sayin as a lock to ND - they're a lock for the #2 & #3 pro style QB in the class. That's a pretty nice problem to have...

Edit: Sayin is a 2024 prospect. Still, nice problem to have.

Enow Etta getting a Steve Wiltfong crystal ball to MSU now. 4 star DE from TX, 247 #58 player in the nation, composite 131st.

Needless to say a ton of our top targets are visiting in June.

These two just added today for the weekend of June 3rd. 5 star DT from GA Vic Burley. 5 Star DE Jaden Wayne from WA. Wayne is very tight with Jordan.

5 star DE David Hicks is taking an official to MSU June 3rd. #4 overall player In the nation.

Is there going to be a camera crew following him around and producing another 20+ minute video of the visit?

Probably. We have a legit shot with Hicks. He and his dad love Tucker and Jordan. Of course it?s all about NIL, and although we can?t out bid TAMU and a few others on all the recruits, we might be able to strategically make a few multimillion dollar offers to a couple 5 stars.

This is the beginning of the end. Unless they figure out a way to reign in this NIL thing which I doubt they have the ability or the will to do.

June 3rd we should have 4 Five stars in campus at once. Wayne, Burley, And Hicks are confirmed. RB Reuben Owens not yet confirmed but is very likely.

Recruiting is heating up, DB recruiting should be pretty interesting here. We've got 2 CBs in the fold, but will be taking 3 or maybe even 4. TX 4 star CB, Jaylon Braxton is speeding up his timeline because he wants to keep his spot if he picks MSU, he's visiting Baylor this weekend and then will decide, previously was looking to announce July 7th. But 4 star WA CB Caleb Presley is on campus this weekend for MSU and will feel some pressure to commit. Safety, 4 star Alabama commit Elliot Washington, visited MSU this Spring and told the coaches he was going to commit to MSU. He's visiting MSU in 2 weeks, I expect he'll make his commitment public shortly after that. Washington is a top 100 player.

DL recruiting is going to be a blast to watch. We had 3 5 stars on campus this weekend, Jayden Wayne, David Hicks, and Vic Burley. We have a legit shot with Wayne and Hicks, Burley is a Clemson lean.

LB, 4 star Jordan Hall is visiting later this month, he's leaning MS and might have already told the coaches he's picking us.

3 star WR Dimitrius Bell visited this weekend, he's expected to announce for MSU in the coming days, he'll be the lone WR in the class, the staff loves him, and he's been tearing up the camp circuit. Total speed demon who will push 4 star when the ratings get updated.

OL recruiting is also something to watch. Top 100 NJ OT Chase Bisontis is considered an MSU lean. Top 100 NJ Madden Sanker visited MSU this weekend and we are probably in his last 2. 5 star OT Samson Okunla is visiting this weekend and I think we have a good shot at him, probably the best chance we have with any 5 star.

More on Dimitrius Bell, was debuted at #220 overall by Rivals today. Is still an 88 on 247. ESPN and On3 have yet to evaluate him, but he's likely going to end up top 250 in the country in the composite. I expect his commitment today or tomorrow.

Hawkins IDed him and made him MSU's top target at WR. Just a stud with the ball in his hands and the staff feels like he's as good as any other WR recruit in the country.

Bell has offers from Tennessee, Ole Miss, Michigan, MSU, LSU, Penn State, and many more. Probably going to get offers from other national programs, he's been a revelation this Summer so far at camps.

What does that mean "he wants to keep his spot if he picks MSU?" His spot at MSU? We don't seem like the kind of program that's gonna turn down 4 star kids, especially in the defensive backfield.

We literally already turned down a top 150 DB in TX S Ryan Yaites. We have 6 or 7 spots and more than that who we probably can get.

WR Demitrius Bell is now a composite 4 star and is expected to announce his commitment to MSU some time today.

Could be the only WR in this class, but if the right guy wants in they could take 2.

that articles I read cited rumors that we told him to hold off on committing so he took us out of the running. I'm not sure what the thinking was with that move - telling the #7 ranked CB in the country to hold off. Even if you like a lesser ranked player better, why turn down a sure thing from a top 10 player for a chance that someone else will commit? Seems a bit bizarre if not plain dumb.

We liked Eddie Pleasant and Chance Rucker better. We view Yaites as more of a nickel, Yaites will be visiting MSU in a couple weeks.

And it was more than a rumor, it was verified by Yaites's side that he tried to commit and we said hold off. Then he committed to LSU immediately after.

Yaites is a weird case, he's probably not that highly ranked when it's all said and done, he's been dropping in the rankings and speed is an issue. MSU likes Colton Hood better and Hood is only ranked 671st overall, Hood is visiting this weekend and will be on Commit watch.

After Bell commits today, we'll have 5 composite 4 stars in the class out of 8 recruits. We had 6 composite 4 stars in the entire 2022 class.

4 star TN WR Demitrius Bell Commits to Michigan State.

As I stated, the staff fell in love with this kid. He was a MVP at a Rivals camp a couple weeks back and shot up to 220th overall in the country on their site. He's due for a bump on 247 soon too. I feel like we got a couple bigger bodied guys last year, but this guy is a true burner that we really need in this class.
