Tigers 2023-2024 Offseason: Trades, Free Agents, Call ups, Rule 5, tender, non-tender

The Detroit Tigers have DFA'd Nick Maton who struggled last year both offensively and defensively. He was acquired by Scott Harris who has said that some moves the team makes will be "calculated risks" as they try different options in the attempt to improve throughout the season.

The biggest takeaway from this move is that the Tigers are now showing a willingness to cut ties quickly and not hang onto players, esp. significant because it was them that made the initial move.

'Days of Roar' Tigers Podcast: Detroit Tigers' Mark Canha is bona fide foodie, professional hitter. 64 minutes.

On this episode: With spring training just around the corner, Mark and Evan are looking closely at how this year's Detroit Tigers roster could shape up.
The guys talk what the plan could be for third base and if Jim Leyland's Hall of Fame plaque will feature a team logo.
Later in the pod, Evan sits down with recently acquired outfielder Mark Canha. In their conversation, Evan asks about Canha's spot in the batting order, realistic goals for 2024, and the youth on the team.
Also, in a shocking turn of events, Mark has complimentary things to say about the Al Avila administration.

ANOTHER QUIET DECEMBER.
Totally Tigers

What if they threw a party and no one came?

That’s exactly what the Tigers wanted to avoid. It’s been exactly 5 years now since they hosted the annual TigerFest. An annual event at Comerica where fans could come and tour the stadium, listen to speakers and get autographs.

It always sold out in minutes.

But it all stopped after the 2019 season.

You know why. Two straight years of 98 losses back-to-back followed by 114 losses in 2019.

Not a coincidence.....

But one of the biggest factors in what happens next off-season is a person who doesn’t play or even don a Tigers’ uniform.
